If it's any consolation, my Pixel Pro overheated wirelessly charging in my Ford Maverick (placeholder for my CT) and that wireless charger is hidden down under that dash. It must be a function of how well the charge coils line up (phone placement), how much it's trying to charge (phone software), and how much power the phone is using while it charges (Maps, streaming music, etc)

I posted this in another thread earlier today because I agree:

I don't love the wireless charger but I did find a nice charging cord that can charge two phones from the single center console usb c port

https://a.co/d/fIQiQJE

I found other usb banks had more than 1 usb c but only one charged and the other was for data transfers for laptops etc. I confirmed the above charging cord charged my wife's iPhone and my Android phone at the same time.

Still searching for a center consult mount to bypass the wireless charging and still have my phone there.

Anyone else think the location of the wireless chargers in the CT is an engineering flaw? In South Florida it’s hard enough to keep a phone cool enough with even with some shade. The location of the chargers bakes the hell out of the phone and charging is consistently stopped from iPhone over heat warnings. Very jacked up design!
I don’t understand. My
iPhone charger works perfectly. Haven’t noticed any heating issue at all. Living in sunny New Orleans.

Well it may be sunny in NO but it probably isn’t South Florida sunny. My truck recorded a 136F interior temp this afternoon. The direct sunlight through the windshield cooks the shit out of the phone.

For the desperate and determined, you can disassemble the center console and disconnect the wireless charger from the wiring harness.

Seems like overkill, tho.
I've been tired of the phone overheating and considered this option but decided against it as the wireless chargers are used to sync with card keys. If the power cable is disconnected, users will lose this key feature. Pun intended ;)

Yep, I wouldn’t unplug this charger.

Odd; I had the cabin overheat alarm go off for the first time today with the cabin recording 105. AC kicked in and reduced to 90. I don’t leave my iPhone in the cabin; do you?

I don’t use the over heat protection because of the battery drain (although I have no idea how much it actually drains). I don’t leave the phone in the truck ever.

I have been wondering how long the dash and steering wheel are going to last with the constant baking. I can’t imagine it’s going to be very long before things start to deteriorate. The tonneau cover and plastic around the bed area is a weak link in my opinion as well. Only time will tell.

Both our iPhones (Max and not Max) charge just fine in the 2020 Model X wireless charger. The Cybertruck wireless charger seems to not even charge that fast while over heating the phones.
For those saying just use USB-C cables that is a stupid answer to a $110k vehicle. They should have installed better chargers, period.

Agree. My wife has the 2024 X and the chargers work perfect on latest model pro max.

It’s not a matter of outside temperature or direct sunlight on the dash area. My phone overheats whether it’s a sunny our cloudy outside. There is something wrong with the charger.

I had a model s from 2012 to 2024.
Left outside every day in baking New Orleans heat. Dash looked new.
