Is it all about the paperwork??

We’ve not been able to figure out Tesla’s basic rules on fulfilling CT orders. We had some delays getting all that $$$ together…does that cause delivery delays? Any idea how Tesla fulfills theses orders…are they going by reservation numbers or how fast you can fill out the paperwork? Location maybe? Reservation numbers appear to be all over the place. We are anxious! How did early deliveries gain success?

There are a number of seemingly random rules which kick out the configuration requests to people. Don't worry about it, like Tesla software update, it will come when it comes.

After you get a chance to configure, you will need to fill out the information on trade-in (if doing so) and financing (if doing through Tesla) or mark it as cash. Also drivers license info.
Then you will basically sit and wait until just a few days before the truck delivered to you.

Thanks much! Sure is creating some excitement watching people receiving CT. Tesla did say that the trade in offer is only good for 30 days, thus we’ve not submitted our info yet. I’ve had trouble figuring out if non-employee/celebrities are getting them.

If you have configured your vehicle, you will need to go through and make the app happy. If it is not happy, you will not be marked as ready to deliver.

Yes, the financing and trade-in will probably expire, they will easily be renewed.

If wait for the VIN to do the paperwork, you won't get a VIN, since Tesla's waiting for the paperwork to assign a VIN.

In other words, if you are not ready to accept delivery today, they will give the truck to someone who is ready.

I dont know what else I can do.

I’ve heard some have had their foundation offer revoked.

Payment won't enable until after VIN assignment, if the page is disabled, no need to worry about it yet.

Thank you for making this clear. That is logical. Some other threads on this site seem to prompt people to wait for the VIN……. This is a more logical means to ensure a VIN is assigned! Cheers.

The purchase process is the same for all the Tesla vehicles. Cybertruck isn't really any different, once you get the order invite.
