One thing I've noticed is that the Sun Visor is just a bad design.
Like last night when I could either block the top half, or the bottom half of the sun - since the visor doesn't start from the top of the windshield.
Also, a few nights ago, a short friend just couldn't block the sun that was coming in at the top edge of the windshield since the visor doesn't quite reach.

Is there a decent replacement one available?

Ick. Those are just permanent panels that cover the top part of the windshield.
Only a little better than nothing.

Looking at that site, I decided that I might try them - but $47 for shipping makes it a big NOPE.

I got a super dark tint strip that goes almost to the level of the rear view mirror...the built-in tint in the top of the window is so dark now almost no sun gets through and the rest of the visor tint that comes lower is perfect.

Following. I'm curious too. I want to OPEN as much of the windshield as possible, not to close it. And to be able to block the sun eventually when it blinds me (rarely).

PS They had to implement something similar to what a Model X has

This is probably common knowledge, but in case someone hasn't discovered it...

You can completely cover (except for the area around the rearview mirror) the upper part of the windshield with the visors: flip the visor down then flip down the visor extension, then without moving the extension, flip the visor back up so that the upper-most portion of the windshield is covered by the extension.

Well, that helps - mostly, with the top edge issue.
Doesn't help with the "1/2 the sun" issue.

I don't understand the "1/2 the sun" issue. I've always been happy in all my cars when the direct sun is blocked (my eyes are in the shade).

And, yes, it not unusual for me to block the top of the windshield by unfolding the extension. Works great.

This is why the visor can be rotated and the arm adjusted to different angles. Flip it to “wide mode” and angle it so it blocks the sun. It is not a traditional visor, think of it more like putting your hand in front of the sun.

I've had several times when the sun was right at the sun visor axle position.
Flip the visor up - and 1/2 the sun is below it.
Flip the visor down - and 1/2 the sun is above it.
Extending the visor doesn't help.

I don’t know a single vehicle that the sun visor provides coverage for the entire hemisphere that your head occupies, though I will say cyber truck is an improvement on the model X design, if they are going to stick with that type of visor…
