I expect the bar got moved up one spot which resulted in being in the same location.
Of course, the service procedure dictates bar placement. But if was visible before the additional slat, then it was incorrectly installed at the factory. I've never seen a CT with the bar in that position, unless it had the extra slat.

One thing you have to be careful about with the bar showing (which I also see on mine) is that it can jam the tonneau while opening if you put something long like a ladder in the bed of the truck that catches on the bar. That is how I discovered the bar being there on mine.
Same way I found out. Had to crawl in and get it out from the bar to open the tonneau cover up.

Same way I found out. Had to crawl in and get it out from the bar to open the tonneau cover up.
It's all good. Just be glad you didn't have to cover up that you had to crawl out of the bar while it was still open! ;)
