My wife hates FSD because when I engage FSD in Chill mode, it rapidly slows down below the speed limit, causing her to get motion sick.

So the CT decelerates from 50 to 35 MPH in 2 seconds. I am frustrated with Tesla, and my wife refuses to use FSD.

Could Tesla be present at marriage counseling?

I do the same as pops above. I’ll let it slowb1mph below my target speed and slowly ease off the pedal untill Elon has fully taken over. Sometimes it doesn’t and the dumb peddle is pushed alert come up, I just cut off FSD and or roll up the target speed until it does.

When this happens i disengage and report then reengage. No reason to allow it, as it is a flaw and potentially unsafe

You guys are a crack-up.

Why do you let it slow from 50 mph to 35 mph? I just let use the accelerator to let it know I intend to continue going 50 mph. Do your reflexes have a 2-second delay? If so, you probably shouldn't be driving.

The reason it works this way is to prevent unintended acceleration, the accelerator pedal is how you tell it to continue. Then when you ease off the accelerator it will maintain speed (as long as conditions are such that it thinks it's safe to do so).

sometimes i engage and it maintains speed fine. Other times i engage and its basically as if i had just suddenly let go of the accelerator. At a minimum its jarring and with how much deceleration there is, if there are cars behind me its the same as if i suddenly started braking… people don't like randomly being brake checked. Ive tried holding the pedal for a second or 2 after engaging to prevent this, and same thing happens about 50% of the time. When it does this i disengage, report, rengage until it maintains the speed I engage at. There is 0 reason for it to suddenly decelerate when engaged. It should maintain speed when engaged. It is not a constant thing, it’s maybe 50% of the time it does this. Other times it engages and maintains speed fine. Not seeking to have it accelerate, just maintain speed when engaged like any other dumb cruise control does.

You might request that Tesla helps with alimony since they have participated in the alienation of affection.

You have to learn how to time it, and show mode probably doesn't help. I will use hurry, and turn on FSD right around the speed limit that I'm at, while setting the speed limit for a higher One on the truck. Then you're going to immediately give us some gas to keep it at or above if you choose the speed limit.

It's definitely frustrating for most people or guest drivers for sure.

When driving 50MPH in a 50MPH zone, it is unexpected that FSD would make the choice to decelerate so dramatically.

Of course, since I know it's coming, I stay on the throttle until the speed evens out. But I find it odd.

If you're getting a rapid deceleration, hit that scrollwheel up. Your max speed may be lower than you want. If you are exceeding max speed and engage FSD, it drops like a rock.

If you're under max speed, it still has the annoying habit of slowing down, but it's more of a steady downward drift over time. Every minute or two, you just put the spurs to the pedal, and she gets back up to where you want it...

Rapid Deceleration happened on a ramp to a 55MPH highway. But unknown to me was that the ramp speed was 35MPH. I was getting a accerator pedal alert, and confused, especially after my wife loudly complained about the sudden deceleration.

Perhaps it should be in HURRY mode at all times and the speed set to a +15MPH offset?
