If doesn’t solve it ,I will keep my Monday service appt. So they can tell me that don’t have an answer. Don’t know why they won’t admit a problem so we know they are working on it. Wasting our time by having us come into service for nothing.

Has anybody else experienced this? I went to use my key card yesterday and it would not unlock my truck, tried the second one with no luck. These are key cards that previously worked. I got in the truck with my phone key, then turned off Bluetooth and put the card in the cupholder and it was recognized and I could operate the vehicle, same with the second key card. I could not figure out why it would operate the truck but not unlock it.
I went to my local service center and the tech said this is the third CyberTruck with this issue in the last two days. Apparently it is a software bug.
I’d be curious if anybody else has encountered this and if you haven’t tried your card in a while, try it and see if you’re affected.
The technician said he will put this in the system and reach out when they have a solution but as of now, they do not have a fix.
Has anyone found a fix for this? Took it to service center and they didn’t have an answer for me.

My CT went into the shop yesterday and side door pillar was replaced. It still did not work. I was told the service technician nees to diagnose the problem and l will be contacted as soon as the technician figure out the problem.
Any update?

The Tesla tech said he would reach out to me and still have not heard anything. I sent an email on Thursday and still no response. Crazy you buy a 80k plus rig and no response from Tesla.

This is part and parcel of the Tesla experience. Customer service is abysmal.

Just tested. Same issue for me, none of card keys will open CB. I even paired one of my old leftover Model Y keys to try an older version of keycard. None will open the truck right now. Sept 2024 delivery. None of the key cards are the new metal one, they are the traditional black ones provided with the original delivery.
I verified both of my Apple Watches will open the truck though.
I guess I'll wait until one of the people with SC appointments with this issue gets a solution.
My driver's seat front bottom upholstery seam refuses to stay tucked in, so I have to eventually make a ticket for that.

My wife finally was going to try to drive it only to find out that her key would not work so I got a link the text message while I was out of town saying how much she hates the truck even more now lol


No updates on a fix yet?

I also confirm that Key Cards will not open the Cybertruck. OMG! What a vulnerability. A phone is an unreliable device and can not be counted on in remote locations. I am grounded until this is fixed.

Well, maybe not that bad. I can just leave my vehicle unlocked, and that does not bother me. I have not locked my house in 12 years, and have always believed that locking cars is also over-rated.

Just had a 2 day service visit. Results were disappointing. Finally received my wheel covers but they did not install because i had the snow tire package installed and apparently the covers don't work with those. Main issue was the Key cards. Service advisor was unaware of this being a problem with others. I told him there's dozens of people speaking of this online. Results of the service visit are below:
Concern: Customer states: Cameras & Sensors - Drivers side pillar no longer reads either key
card. I can add or remove cards in phone charger so must be pillar sensor issue.
Repair Notes: Diagnosed concern, did find that there is a recognized issue currently where the
keycards do work to start vehicle from the center console but are not functioning on the b pillar.
Inspected components, wiring and connections. tested replacement b-pillar, same issue apparent.
No fix available at this time.

My appointment is this Thursday. I asked in the messages if they anticipated needing to keep my truck overnight and they said they would partially because my drop off isn’t until the afternoon.

I also mentioned, how many folks are reporting SCs not finding a fix for this, and asked if they still wanted me to bring in, and they confirmed they do want to diagnose it themselves.


Hard for me to feel like Tesla isn’t blatantly waisting my time right now with having me come in for the appointment, and then likely leave my truck overnight all while knowing there’s no fix for this.

Well I can’t unlock the doors from b piller with card… add one more stupid problem to the list…

Love the truck, but this has been pretty disappointing. I might just park it for the time being. Scared to get somewhere and my phone not connect for whatever reason, leaving me stranded
