Other electrical stuff being defective (being too cheaply made??) in cars cause more fires than EV batteries do.

Will it get weeks and weeks of immediate intense media attention and be repeated for 10 years??

Hyundai, Kia owners should park outside because vehicles can catch fire, makers warn Nearly 485,000 vehicles are at risk because of contamination in the antilock brake control module that can cause an electrical short.

.....
Hyundai and Kia are telling the owners of nearly 485,000 vehicles in the U.S. to
park them outdoors because they can catch fire even if the engines have been turned off.
The recalls from the two Korean automakers are another in a long string of fire and engine
failure problems that have dogged the companies for the past six years.
This time the problem is contamination in the antilock brake control module that can cause
an electrical short. This increases the risk of fire while the vehicles are being driven or are
parked.

.....
separate fire defects that have plagued millions of Hyundai vehicles across multiple model years

.....
Many of the recalls involved manufacturing defects that stopped oil from flowing through the engine block.

Hyundai and Kia warn that 500,000 of their cars in the US are at risk of spontaneously catching fire and advise owners to park outside

Uh... I am trying to figure out what other state the vehicle could be in besides driving or parked?

Too lazy to link it, but Tesla has *another* recall.

This one to disable the Boombox sounds. Say goodbye to having your car sound like an ice cream truck or making coconut clopping sounds while driving. It’s too loud for people to hear the slow speed warning sounds.

Good news is playing your stereo as loud as you want is still entirely legal in any car. Also engines which are tuned to be loud and any number of other more annoying noises.

"I can't hear the sound your car makes for the car is making sounds' is not the logic I was expecting.

Where the heck did that come from? Certainly not Joe.
NHTSA.

Not sure beyond that, I didn’t dig much.

“National Highway Transportation Stupidification Association” said:
While Boombox can enhance the conspicuity of the vehicle to pedestrians, a vehicle that uses Boombox when in motion may cause the PWS to be noncompliant with FMVSS 141, which could increase the risk of a collision. Tesla is not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition.
Even the NHTSA says “It’s not actually dangerous and nothing has ever remotely suggested it’s dangerous but this stick up our arse says you should disable it regardless”.

Apparently Tesla has been fighting this for over a year. Absolutely insane that our government is paying people for this idiocy.

Reminds me of when Elon and Everyday Astronaut were touring Starbase and 100 pieces of equipment were beeping and Elon said if everything is beeping, nothing is beeping. At least a unique sound would catch people's attention.
