Light Bar Installation Required!? (Service center won't allow just picking up part)

I received a message from the service center with an appointment to install the light bar. I really don't want it and thought I could sell it or get store credit. That was denied. I thought maybe then I could fab a nice bracket for the light bar to make it removable. Service center says is has to be installed and they will not let me have it unless it is installed. Anyone else have any luck just getting the light bar and not have it installed? Yes, I could just not install it but I paid for it (included in the Foundation price).

Sounds like that dealership wants the install $. If you paid for it, it’s yours installed or in a box.

So instead of trying to chat in the service app, I stopped by the service desk and asked them if I could just pickup the off road lightbar. Initially the service desk said sure but needed to check with his supervisor. Apparently because of the need for soldering some wires, they won't give the part out without installing. They also said version 4 is coming out and when it does, they will not need to install it so I didn't push the issue. The service guy said to just wait for now until version 4 is available.

BTW, installed this off road lightbar is in the $2500 range if it was available. I have the Foundation series so it's already included in that premium price. That seems a little steep.
