Nah. I love my truck and I'm not going to let people intimidate me into not enjoying it every moment I have available.

I have insurance (and a particular set of skills should I ever be unlucky enough to have to use them).
I mean, I’m being facetious, but still … probably would just take my FJ and blend in with the potential crazies.

Because of the all the "peace and understanding", personally i'd only long term park another vehicle for the time being until things cool down. Just me, drive mine all the time but then pull into a well armed parking area... :censored:

I've had no issues in South Florida, only positive interacts and thumbs up. I went to the Gulf coast last weekend where a lot of older midwestern people vacation to (especially this time of year) and I got my first bit of hate, some older dude spit in front of it as I was driving in the parking lot. I did find myself monitoring sentry mode on the app more than normal after that ready to honk the horn if someone got too close. It is a balance between just living my life in this new truck I love and being a bit paranoid.

The fear of having something hateful happening isn't worth the stress involved, I'm so glad I got this truck and the experience of owning one is so unique. I try to focus on what I love about it instead of what I fear or the dumb shit I hear from people at work that can't think for themselves!

Absolutely 100% cannot do this, and for various reasons... most of all being curious little kids love touching things.
Good call. Hadn't thought about the kiddos. You don't want them getting hurt. Guess it would have to be remote activated. LOL. Not realistic anyway, just wish people were more respectful of others and their property.

I am working on a project to mount and have this Wyze cam be able to lay flat against the roof light rack and when I park flip it up and let it record.

The CT has some big blind spots for the Sentry cam, most of the blind spots allow for someone to get into a vehicle or go to a location that the camera has no angle of.

Last ditch effort would be to get an old GOPRO camera and mount it on the dash area, enable wide angle view so you can at least see where they walked to after an incident.

You can replace the lock sound with a custom one: "We are going to make America great again" ~DJT seems to work well in combination with American Flag magnets stuck below the Foundation badges.

They'll probably fear you at that point.

I got all of my most negative interactions outside of bars/ breweries (understandably). You should be good with a quick grocery store trip. ESPECIALLY a trip to home depot! We gotta own the fact that we drive these bad ass trucks...
Yeah exactly, I usually ask if another truck 100% made in USA exists that can beat a corvette, go rock crawling and drive my visually impaired son around.

It's so effing stupid to have to worry about where you park your car. Humans are completely screwed up, and desperately need some sense smashed into their thick skulls. Elon is an incredibly intelligent, good human, so why, WHY is there so much hate. I fvking hate those people.

You do know that the car displays the Tesla owl when century is activated right?

Only asking because most of us never see it and some people don’t know what’s there.

I love the marker idea, especially with another camera and maybe livestream “threats”.
I know you just want to park at an event near and dear to you, but if you got neighboring cars to run some cameras too you could make a video of the whole thing, even get someone to do some interviews- keep the car safe, make some $$, give people a chance to air out their frustrations, and let others see how crazy the vandalism is.

If you have time, reach out to Channel 5 (or someone similar who doesn’t seem to incite chaos as much).

id honestly love to hear why these people are actually committing these acts. Might be a good healing move for your community.

I'm going to a local event where my truck will be parked and unattended for several hours this weekend. Obviously I have sentry mode and a huge thumb drive ready to go to document what happens, but it will be at a place that tends to attract more colorful individuals. I'm hoping for absolutely nothing to happen, would have already had people write stupid things on the side of my truck in the grime.

Has anyone ever tried putting up a "smile you're on camera" sign or something to that effect? I don't want to have to deal some dunce thinking they're being cute And then have it turn into a whole thing with the event hosts.
a few hours is Long Term now? ?

Honestly, I’d just use Uber / park nearby somewhere safer etc. I have a backup car for this purpose now. Luckily, my work travel destination are safer zones eg Court ?.

I mean, I have an American flag hanging from the camera cluster, some people act like that is a terrifying symbol around here.

I've parked my Tesla cars at the airport many times and haven't had any problems yet. I guess it depends on where you park. I have thought about it more lately with the uptick in vandalism.

I don't take the Cybertruck to the airport but I have seen many others parked. Seems like the worst places to park them are anywhere that it is free. Like shopping centers or streets.

I wonder if a car cover would be a good idea if parking somewhere like that? Then nobody knows what it is. Can you even put a cover on though? Maybe that violates some parking rule somewhere.

same situation. When I’m traveling which is fairly frequently I just do not feel safe leaving my cyber truck at the airport for multiple days. I haven’t ever been concerned about leaving my S. But now I have some misgivings about leaving it places too. It’s a plaid and it’s got some extra carbon fiber bits (rear diffuser, front splitter, mirror caps) on it so it sticks out a little bit. The one that I’m least worried about is my wife’s model X because those things are practically invisible in my experience nobody notices them.

I'm working on something similar, but with Ubiquiti equipment, Starlink, and a 5G connection for redundancy.
