Hey, everyone. My CT is less than 1k miles so am just curious before finding out what SC says (other issues for appointment).

I noticed starting 2 days ago (after about 800 miles) that when the truck levels now, the compressor is very loud. It levels file, but it's extremely loud. So much so that my wife (sitting in back with baby) is constantly asking what the heck is that "hiss" noise.

Anyone else experience this?

The hiss is, at least for me, not the compressor running, it's the system bleeding air.
As I put it in park and it drops to the Entry mode, it hisses all over the place.

Thanks. How loud would you describe it?

It sounds like your wife just needs you to make her feel more special to you. She probably feels like she plays second fiddle to your Cybertruck, so she's easily irritated by it.

Do you guys off-road a lot or why is the Cybertruck hissing so much? You might just need to select "Lower" for your preferred ride height so it's not always going up and down as much. It will make easier to get in/out too.

If you already have it set to "Lower" you might need to delete stored locations where you have played with the ride height in the past (the Cybertruck remembers locations where you raised the ride height and repeats that every time you go there again).

Louder than a standard tire being deflated. It's pretty obvious, because the truck is going down, often with a slight rocking effect.
It's the air valve being opened wide!

I guess I'm just surprised at how much louder it is than compared to my X, where you barely hear a thing.

I dare say that there may be higher pressures and higher volumes on the Cybertruck system.
And going to entry mode isa much bigger requirement.

I don't think that the Model S has an entry position, so the change when shifting to park isn't as noticeable as the Cybertruck.
Then there's the lot more volume that would be expected because of the weight and the over 2 inch drop from medium to entry.
And over 8 inch total differential available.

Model S is more of a seen and not be heard type of vehicle.

For the Cybertruck, if I can't rev the engine or roll coal, at least let me hiss loudly at others! ;)

My experience:
When in motion above 15mph I hear nothing.

Under 15mph:
Lowering to Entry, I hear no hiss.
No hissing noises ever.
I can hear the compressor pumping away to refill the tank.

Thanks. At slow speeds regardless of height level, I hear it loud so this is very helpful.

For me, the loud hissing sound when I park is only when the CT has to drop 2+ levels. For example, if it has to drop from Med to Entry, then it will make the loud hissing sound (air releasing quicker). If it drops from Med to Low or Low to Entry, then I don’t hear anything. Hope this helps!

I have mine set to "Higher" and "auto-lower". I don't hear a thing. The truck just starts lowering when I park.

If I'm showing people the ride height from inside the truck, we don't hear anything, they just see (and maybe feel) the truck raising or lowering.
