Bought my CT in December, in Winnipeg. I know there are a couple of others in Manitoba. Are there any on here? Bob
Man that must be tough in the current climate up there, and I’m not talking about the weather. I’m not trying to hijack turn this into a political discussion but with all the Buy Canadian fervor, how’s it going?

I watch politics, then I ignore it. No Prime Minister, or President, or anyone, is going to tell me where to spend my money.
Never worry about hijacking my thread. As long as you are respectful, I’ll talk about anything.

I appreciate that attitude and perspective. Thanks!

Most of that stuff is just online babble. In real life most people are normal.

How was it through the winter? I'm in NS and it's a fair bit milder here.

It was good. The tires are not winter tires, so had to be careful. But it handled the cold well. At worst, it was 300km per full charge. Now it’s up to 400km per full charge. I just like everything about the truck. I’m having a rear wing made. Hoping it makes it stand out.

If anyone else has any questions regarding the CT in cold weather, just ask. The interior heats up amazingly fast. The heater keeps up-no problem. The auto defrost works fine. It uses the battery up quicker, but an ICE gets poorer mileage in cold weather too, so no difference. As it warms up, my mileage has gone up considerably. As stated before, the tires are not good on ice and snow, but that's not the truck's fault.
One thing that is noticeable---the auto drive gets confused when there is snow on the lines and it isn't sure where the lanes are. I've had to grab the wheel on a couple of occasions. But, again, that's not the truck's fault. I've seen many drivers become confused when the lines are covered.

I'm a couple of provinces over, in Edmonton, Alberta - the truck has likewise performed well in the cold. We put the OEM winter tires on, and they're not bad. FSD doesn't seem to compensate for an icy, or snow covered, road the way a human would - I had it turn onto a snowy road and immediately accelerate enough to lose control before I could take over (hit a snow bank and lost the right front faring, but otherwise ok). But in my neighborhood with the roads completely snow covered (as they are for 6 months a year) it somehow manages to figure out where to go, though it doesn't follow the grooves in the road, so it's a bit of a wild ride.

Your point about defrosting is spot on: takes about 2 minutes, and I love turning it on just before leaving a restaurant and getting into a toasty warm vehicle with the windows and mirrors clear of ice and snow!

It's easily the best vehicle we've had.

Neighbor to the south -- North Dakota. The range compared to my Model Y was decent over the winter, about 60-65% of rated range when negative (F) temps and a bit breezy. Now that we're seeing highs 40F to 55F, range is close to 80% rated, which for me is outstanding, having driven a model Y for three years. I drive mostly on the highway at 75mph highway speeds and at 15% gravel road driving. traction and handling snowy and icy conditions was great.

I am looking to purchase a truck when I get back to Manitoba in May so I am really hoping that the tariffs on vehicles don’t take effect. What is it like as far as peoples reactions in Winnipeg? We live east of Winnipeg.

I have not had a single negative moment. Not even a middle finger. Lots of attention though. Be prepared to spend some time talking about it. There are 4 or 5 in Manitoba now, so it's not as bad. When I first got it, it was like no one in the province had even heard about them.
As far as the truck goes, you will luv it. I have many cars, including a Delorean and an Amphicar. This one is right up there for a unique experience.
Any more questions, just ask.

Sounds great. I had one of the first MS (2016) in manitoba and then the first MY delivered to Manitoba so I do know about the attention and needing to talk to people. It makes it fun. So cool you have a Delorean and the Amphicar.

I bought the cybertruck to take my family to Montreal once a month like we used to. I have NY plates. Do you think it is safe? Would I run into any issues? I do not want to put my family into any negative situation. Thanks. Congratulations on your truck.
