For the most part I have enjoyed and been surprised by the experiences of purchasing a Tesla. But with what I have spent to get the Cybertruck I would not expect to arrive for delivery and see that in my new truck was missing a piece of the middle floor trim on the right side. The under dash coverboard trim was also broken and falling down. I was asked to make a service appointment... yay... just what I want to be doing after getting CT. It was also a little annoying that while the truck did look like it was recently wet and appears to been somewhat cleaned there was still a lot of what looked like old dust and dirt build up on the weather striping rubber on the tonneau cover and other parts or the truck at the rubber weather stripping or inside door and tailgate areas and the bumper, even after a rain shower you can see the caked up dust. I took the opportunity to dry and wipe it clean.

There was also a lot of areas that had an adhesive on the panel or windshield. The one on the windshield was in a hard to reach place and it is still on there now cause I have not had the right equipment to try and remove it, was also going to try goo gone.. but it's annoying spending this much and still feeling like I bought my old bucket car with gunk on it and have to clean it off. I still love the truck though and have been really happy with it just wish that part was a little better.

Has anyone else had this experience? Was it easy dealing with the service appointments?

Any tips for getting the gunk off? I was able to remove most of it after the rain but some areas seem to still have some.

Heard Barkeeper Friend spray foam is good.

Typical Tesla quality.

WD40 works well to get that stuff clean, you want something petroleum based.

Not really,I bought a new MYP in January and I could not find any flaws to complain about-and I am picky! Yes the CTs come somewhat dirty but that right side center trim piece looks terrible. OPs truck looks like some of the demos you see in the showrooms that have been used and abused.

It's hit and miss with Tesla assembly quality.

No other automaker can get away with "put in a ticket" for poor workmanship, missing pieces, scratched surfaces, etc.

If more buyers would refuse delivery it would send a strong message to the leadership team.

Every automaker gets away with it. The difference being that dealers do the repairs and make the vehicle showroom ready before putting it out for display.
If there is damage, they fixe it and make the manufacturer pay for it.

From my experience, and the number of exterior pictures that you posted, I'd recommend goig to one of the generic manual car wash with the foaming brushes and hopefully warmer water.

The Stainless Steel, at least for me, seems to have a coating of machining oil on it that just magnifies the fingerprints and marks.
A combination of warm water, foaming brush, and a little elbow grease on the marks will tend to remove everything.

Depending on the service center, you get different levels of cleaning, from a basic "just rinse it off" to a more classic dealer experience. Mine was just rinsed off. But knowing what it looked like before they rinsed it off, it was actually quite a bit cleaner. The shipping options that Tesla uses often result in some pretty dirty vehicles.

I collected a bunch of those oxidation spots or whatever they are over the last two weeks by parking the CT outside and having leaves, sap anf twigs falling on everything.

I also tried a whole bunch of cleaners to try and remove them. What ultimately did it with a simple wipe was the powdered version of Bar Keeper's Friend on a wet towel. (I wouldn't use this all the time, but it was great for those spots where nothing removed it.)
