Guys,
Brand new winter package tires and wheels, installed Nov 2025, all 17.5 32nd tread depth.
Jan 2025 5K miles, same, all 17.
May 20th, 8K miles, RR 11/32nd, rest 17. Tesla was taking care of a tailgate loose issue and paid for a rotation just to show good faith.
Clearly an issue with the RR and now tire ruined.
Prompt stated:
"Diagnose severe right rear tire wear. In 3,000 miles, the Right Rear tread has dropped from 17/32" to 11/32". The Left Rear tread remains at 17/32". This isolated, extreme wear indicates a factory defect in the right rear suspension geometry or a malfunctioning Rear-Wheel Steering (RWS) actuator dragging the tire. Requesting a full 4-wheel alignment check, RWS actuator calibration, and replacement of the prematurely destroyed right rear tire under the Basic Vehicle Warranty due to mechanical component failure."
I”m booking a service appointment after the Tesla site manager gives me the go ahead. Felt the suspension issue combined with rotation and a replacement tire was too complex for a request with no heads up.
Btw, this is my local service center I bring food gifts with every visit.
I’ll post again once all is corrected.
point is, at $500-600 per wrangler Duratrak tire, check your tread depth at each 6500 mile rotation
