Good for you! Mine was a total impulse buy...binge watched everything I could on a Friday night, test drove Saturday afternoon picked up Sunday afternoon. By far the best vehicle I have ever owned
Same. I drove my cousins to dinner in the Thousand Oaks Area of LA. Then on the way back home I tried FSD and I had to have one!

Any other vehicle from your past like is now irrelevant…trust me…you will never look back. How does the saying go? “I once was blind but now I see”. You just purchased the most technologically advanced vehicle ever conceived in my opinion. So truly happy for you. ENJOY!
Same. I’ll probably only buy another Porsche gas motor. I need a 911. Rest will be EVs from now.

So my perspective is colored by the configuration and having three young kids but here goes.
The six seat interior is awesome for families. Everyone has a space and that means way less bickering. Also having 6 seats means there is an extra seat back there so either myself or my wife can climb back there fairly easily ,without stopping the car, to do whatever we need to do or just sit there to keep them company, play family games (including rear screen video games) or whatever .
It also means grandma or auntie or anyone else can roll with us when we go somewhere.
The middle space is a very nice climate controlled and accessible space to put stuff you may need access to while driving.
12v sockets in both the trunk and center console are nice. Can charge stations with two solar inputs at 240w instead of 120w and we almost always have a fridge with us. Of course, the cyberrruck wins this hands down with the ac plugs but I believe ithe x is the only Tesla that has two.
The falcon wing doors are legitimately MUCH easier to load and unload with car seats so that cuts down on that frustrating amount of time at every stop.
The ability to control every door from the screen is a convenience you don’t fully appreciate until it’s gone. We even added a power frunk so it really is, every door.
Then there is the FSD. I hope nobody stones me for this here but my wife’s model x (HW4) has FSD that’s SO much better than my truck I almost trust it as an autonomous driver. It’s WAY more relaxing for that reason. I’m barely watching most of the time.
We have free supercharging on both so the decision before roadtrips has to do purely with, what are the chances we’re going off-road and do we have anything huge to carry.
I can tell you for city to city trips, the x wins almost every time.
It’s also frankly less loud and attention grabbing which is good or bad depending on your perspective.

The Taycan is beautiful! A Porsche has always been my dream car. Just not sure I could buy an EV other than a Tesla. Maybe a mythological Roadster some day.

Have you driven one? It’s a completely different thing. I wouldn’t buy that for commuting and probably would prefer to drive it myself all the time which is just as well because no FSD.
The actual driving experience is night and day from a plaid but again, the tech isn’t as good without FSD.
If you offered me an S plaid without FSD or a taycan, I’d unequivocally pick the Porsche.

Good to hear, I had an S Plaid for a loaner last week. It was ok, painfully quick, but other than acceleration, I’d take a CT any day. They look nice and I liked the screen behind the steering wheel but it needs steer by wire. Taycan looks way better in my opinion. Both of which are financially out of my league. I’m not at a place where I can justify a supercar.

I’d choose a Cybertruck any day of the week. And I did.

Taycan of some sort won’t do it for you?
Nope. I’m a total gear/petrolhead. And I love my 3 pedals. CT is for running around. When I want to drive drive I’m taking Elmo out!
