Basically when you are at supercharger or public charger usually it's for a much longer time then a gas pump. So you either sit in the car or walk somewhere. Some locations are in areas behind gas stations or places you probably wouldn't really want to be alone if it's late at night. There's been some EV drivers killed while charging. I know one was at a Target or Walmart in California.

Also, a factor is someone driving a Tesla or expensive EV may be a target since they look like they have money. At least in the eyes of a carjacker or someone looking to rob them.
I had a friend who lived in downtown Atlanta. A few years ago, he told us the story that he got car-jacked at the gas station.

No one reacted. He asked why.

Basically we were all surprised that this was the first time that he had gotten carjacked down there.

There are areas of towns that I won't go, even if the nav takes me there.

And BTW, there have been many more ICE drivers killed while getting gas than EV drivers. And they CAN drive off.
