Has anyone else had issues with new passengers using the emergency door release...which can cause damage to the window trim? I haven't had any damage, but need a way to prevent this from happening. Surprised I can't find a 3D printed option. Has anyone solved this?

Tell new passengers how to operate the door when they get in. It becomes a habit.

I've not had anyone grab the secondary release. Everyone who has been in my vehicle has asked how to open the door.

I think you should recommend your passengers drink some of this.. :D

Here is a maker file from @TickTock that looks like your solution.

I don't have a printer so I haven't tried it myself. The hack I'm using is a hand-shaped piece of foam under the release lever and strip of gaffe tape over the top of the release, wrapped underneath the foam. That has worked for me and my passengers. You can see it here: https://www.cybertruckownersclub.co...ency-door-open-how-to-avoid.19235/post-345037

Here is a link to the 3d printed cover I made. I fit it to my truck - not sure how consistent they are truck to truck so let me know if it doesn't fit right.

I've found this to be very effective.

The Mrs got pissed at first, but then learned.

I don't even tell new passnegers now because its just a fun little game we play since its an electric vehicle afterall.

I just got a couple of warning decal stickers to help prevent people from using it.

With all the vendors on this site, I wish someone would make a plastic cover with a latch (or able to snap off) to prevent people from using it in a non-emergency.

NOTE: @Crissa is the one who posted this recommendation in the other thread.

I drove a Model 3 for over 5 years and I will tell you that people who have never been in a Tesla will pull that lever about 50% of the time. Other times they typically would ask how to open the door. With the Cybertruck I have had more people press the correct button and that may be because of the door icon on the button itself.

How about some GLUE or EPOXY?? That would prevent them from using it... hehe...

OR, better yet, just make them ride in the back seat!
