Service center states parts are on back order, but they’ll notify when available. Feels like a win by not getting “no”.

@jf64k - if your service center sells you brackets and end caps, I’ll buy if you can get 2 sets. To be clear I’ll pay for 2 sets of brackets, end caps, and associated hardware. DM me if interested/able.

Welp, got shut down for the install. Reason: no proof of purchase from Tesla for the light bar. Oh well.

Plan B: Just asked if they can supply the parts. I sent a list on the app (CT is currently at the SC for other issues). They said they’re checking with their parts counter.

Plan C: If they wont sell me the parts, I’ll stick it down with VHB and hope for the best, haha!!

Just watching this is disheartening. I was on the fence about buying a light bar, but this seems like such a headache. I have the same issues trying to buy the quick releases for the tonneau applique. They just say they cannot sell them unless I buy a new Cybertent. Just ridiculous. Money is money. And I guess if they never wanted others to buy/use the light bar, then why keep the option in the software or the pig tails in the side pillars? You'd think they would have just cut those out completely to save cost and lock the software so they couldn't be used. That'd send a much clearer message to those trying to buy secondhand.

I think they just see these lightbars as a liability at this point. Install is a headache. Probably not worth it to change the design, the change would probably cost more than they’d save. There is a limited number in circulation and eventually they won’t have to worry about it.

Unlike the light bar (which was only ever supposed to go to foundation series cyber beasts) this doesn’t make any sense. The appliqué isn’t just used for the cybertent, you need it if you want to install crossbars and lots of other things. It was supposed to be freely available for trucks that weren’t originally equipped with it. Tesla expressly stated that after they stopped putting it on non-foundation AWD trucks.

I would push back on that. People don’t have a leg to stand on when it comes to the light bar, but you do here!

No. Shut down on the parts too, haha!! ‘Not for individual purchase’.

The seller of the lightbar recommended Betaseal U-418 over VHB. Looks interesting.

Either way, I’m going to mount this thing, haha!!

To bad they don't release the on screen control to third party vendors. The only reason I want the tesla off road light vs xkglow

That would make sense but they have trouble delivering features we’ve been promised for ages (ASS, PowerShare for Powerwall). Imagine all the accessories etc we could have had if the CT took off in sales or received proper attention from Tesla.
