Just had a new Cybertent install, I knew the updated Cybertent had a few upgrades but I thought I’d list the changes from YouTube vids I’ve seen.
— tonneau appliqué assembled with fishhook clips to easily remove and replace. No tools necessary. Just pull up then release front clips with finger. Just snaps back into place when finished.
—red clips are fully attached to tent and do not remain on truck when stored. You unbutton them.
-there is no zipper on tent cover when storing, it just pulls over very easily and snaps with metal clips on front.
—looks like a redesign on cantrail clips as well.

overall this setup seems easier to install and take down from the YouTube vids I’ve seen. The only issue I had was the step to put into tent mode after you remove the tonneau appliqué. If you do it at that step the truck raises the tonneau a bit and makes it impossible to fold tent out. I waited til I got tent folded out then placed in tent mode.

Bro, no disrespect but that thing looks a bit off pace quality wise. Very different from the renders. Something is off quality wise on that thing.
Couldn’t agree more. It looks like the TEMU version.

If you get a free minute, could you take some pictures or a video of how this works? I've been thinking about getting the tent, but I'm trying to get my head around whether it's a pain to do the tonneau appliqué thing, and I don't really have a sense for how the clips work.

Thanks!

Yes I will snap some photos. I went camping this past weekend. It rained on us pretty heavy the last day, so I will be putting the tent back up, cleaning and making sure everything is dry. Tent worked great this weekend really enjoyed camping in it.

I am annoyed. I bought a Cybertent second hand and service is telling me I cannot order quick release clips separate. Using thumbscrews now, but the clips would be even better.

Thanks for posting the photos! I just ordered one, scheduled install for this week. 🚀

How did it go in the rain? Any leaks or anything else unexpected? With the tent up and the appliqué removed, does a bunch of water end up in the bed, or no?

Hopefully you can tell from the pictures the fish hook system to replace the thumbscrew. Also notice the red button strap is sewn on the tent and just attached at the corner of bed. Also not pictured the legs do not have the locking pin buttons as I’ve seen on earlier tents. The legs are high grade aluminum or steel that fold out. Cover for tent in bed has no zippers it simply covers and latches. Also the ratcheting strap on back is easy to get to and reattach when you get the tent folded. Really the only thing that is a little odd is cybertent mode leaves the tonneau cover up a little instead of fully rescinded. So you have to leave out of cybertent mode until you get the tent fully assembled.

This is also my concern as well. Please let us know.

Oh interesting - sounds like they have made quite a few changes since the original ones (red strap being sewn on, zippers removed). That sounds pretty awesome about the zippers - i think every single video I’ve watched about the tent complained about the old zippers!

i didn’t have any leaks and we had a pretty heavy rain last Sunday morning. Nothing in the bed. Seems like it was protected better with the tent up than with it stowed away. I have not had the extra slat installed to prevent bed leaks in tonneau yet.

it does get easier the more times you remove appliqué and put up tent. Takes a bit on those fish hook clips to figure out which way to push etc. it feels pretty tight at first on the release so you have to put a little pressure pulling the appliqué up, but once one side releases you get the hang of it. Really a simple system and huge upgrade from the thumbscrews.

Thanks for confirming about the lack of leaks. That was my number one concern given the cost of this thing.

Question: is there any way to attach an outdoor air-conditioning system? Meaning are there any holes or way to duct in a corrugated pipe?
