Correct, that lower connection doesn't exist. Like I said, the instructions are for the previous Gen. If the Y cable has a USB-C plug on the third end, it is right. That end runs up to the mirror AFTER you connect the other end to the plug under the dash. While you are at it, don't take the wire tie off the part of the cord with the little box on it, you have to hide that wire anyway.

I made the mistake of ordering the version without the nice rearview camera cover.for $10 extra. So, now I either have to order it from them or find one someplace else. Ugh

I saw some guy on the youtube have the 3D print for the camera. Not sure if this 3D print fit your camera or not but if you have 3D print it may be worth a try.

They show a funky looking camera on the website...how do you get the small triangle camera housing?

You dont want it. The camera is mounted crooked inside it. There are a couple of 3D prints that look better and and the camera can actually mounted straight.

I have good news! My v2.x Hansshow rear view mirror arrived and I did the install today filming what all is new/different from prior versions. Additionally, I modified the best camera housing to now actually work with the new camera without having to take a dremel tool to the one floating around the internet and shown earlier in this topic thread I think. I hope to have the article and video published over the weekend so stay tuned!

A quick teaser, so far it turned out great, but I still have a few settings I want to play with and understand better and of course no operators manual to be found...

(If you know of one please point me to it, I need to ask Hansshow if they have one)

I have fixed this one so that it will accept the new V2 camera into this housing and will post the new 3D print file with my upcoming article and video. Stay Tuned!

Instruction manual? Heck the installation manual was a Gen back. Gravity sensing is triggered if you go Streets of San Francisco or Evel Kneivel.

Has anyone considered adding a circular polarizer to either the front or rear camera? I know the Wolf box mirror has a cpl lens attachment. I got the one on Amazon that says it fits the wolf box, but it did not fit the Hanshow front lens. There are others I may try.
As I had the lens in hand I wondered about attaching it to the rear lens somehow. I was thinking attaching it to the front of the 3"d printed housing, but wasn't sure if it would negatively impact the lens field of view or clarity.
Has anyone tried it? Would it be worth it? I am curious as to everyone's thought on the subject.

What is the lens cover supposed to do? Just protect from impact or filter light out in a certain way to avoid glare or ? It looks like it would work to mount outside the camera housing as shown in your photos. Easy enough to remove if it doesn't work out I would imagine...

It's not just a cap. It's a circular polarizing filter. The base is stationary and the top half rotates to allow the user to dial in the filter. Below is a summary of what CPLs do. I figured it might be of use due to the windshield could create some glare. Wolfbox makes one for their front lens that is included in some packages. I have not seen one that states it fits the Hanshow or any of those other ones targeting the CT market specifically.
My quandary has 3 parts. A) Is it useful or needed B) Has anyone found one that's made for the Hanshow cameras lens, and if not, has anyone found one that will actually work with the Hanshow being it's not meant to fit, and C) Has anyone tied to put one on the rear camera?
