Just ordered my first ever Tesla (2024 Cybertruck AWD) saw a unit for immediate pickup with -$8K price adjustment. Now Tesla is telling me i can only pickup the unit in 5-7 Days so they can fix the Cantrail.

First Time Tesla owner so any recommendations and suggestions prior to pickup would be great.

Why would the unit be discounted at -$8K ?
How bad is the phantom battery drain ? (As i dont drive everyday and car will be sitting not plugged in)
Any thing specific i should ask or look for at time of pickup ?

Made the switch from a 2023 BMW X3 M40

Located in the Miami Area

Thank You In Advance :)

Most probable explanation for the price adjustment would be demand, simply trying to move product on hand as quickly as possible.

Phantom drain is minimal. Early on (this coming Saturday will be 1y ownership), it was noticeably more significant. FWIW, I just took a road trip this weekend, 165mi and a Canadian border each way. The drive there used 50% battery, on the nuts, as did the drive home - perfectly in line with the advertised 320mi range. Parked the truck in a private parking garage, no charging available (AirBnB condo building, but no charge anxiety with plenty of option in/around downtown Vancouver BC). With Sentry Mode active, but no other trickle/phantom drain was at 2%-3% per day. Less activity for Sentry to kick on in the parking garage, which would surely introduce additional drain. IMO, phantom drain of any significance only becomes reality with Sentry Mode on when parked in a heavy foot-traffic area. Not taking into account cabin climate/other system usage while the vehicle is parked.

One final FWIW, you're going to love the truck.
SBW will change your life, and if you went with FSD, you'll never consider looking back.
