Are you saying Grok does the routing now? My impression is the Grok integration didn't change the actual routing, more of a control layer on top of the routing. is this incorrect?
No routing by Grok. Just an interface for selecting destinations and way points.
But FSD must have some routing control/intelligence (or lack of intelligence) as it often disregards navigation routes.
Often takes crazy unnecessary detours.

I turned on NSFW (not safe for work) and OMG. I couldn't take it. LOL. Grok's a freak.
100%! I have to make sure I turn it back to assistant when I get out in case the gf gets in and asks a question.. "Hey Ari, how long till the next charge stop and what is there to do" "it's about 10min to the next f'ing stop which you would know if you're lazy ass looked at the screen. Do you need me to fist f* you to wake you up"

No need to disengage most of the time.
switch to the full route view by tapping on the top of the navigation list. Then you can tap an alternate route. Often the preferred one. Might show as same amount of time or more. I do this quite often to avoid unnecessary unprotected left turns on busy highways that may require a longer wait than an alternative route with a left turn at a light.

Not my experience been using FSD 2018. The routes I want are often not the ones offered by FSD
Especially when I know the area like the back of my hand.

TL;DR - Grok can now remove way points on the fly via voice! Along with selecting a new destination, etc.

I often use waypoints on the map to force the truck to take a route that I prefer. The problem with that, until now, is you have to remember to edit the trip before the truck arrives, or you may find yourself pulling in to somebody's driveway at one of the intermediate waypoints.

Until now, I could ask Grok to create a complex route ("navigate to home depot, but take 144th to South St and over to Wilson") and it would add the waypoints to force the route. But it wouldn't update the route while the truck was driving, so I still had to edit the route manually via the screen for each segment as I approached the waypoints.

But with the latest release 2026.14.6.7 / v14.3.4, Grok is able to add and remove waypoints via voice, while you're driving. So, now, before you get to a waypoint, you can say "Hey Grok, remove the next waypoint" and it'll do it. Much easier than manually editing the route via the screen.

I'd be curious to hear about any other new Grok tricks folks have come across. I'm enjoying the 'Hey, Grok' functionality a lot.
I wonder... when you have Grok create the route by adding the waypoints, could you include, in the prompt, an instruction to remove the waypoints as you progress along the route, and would Grok "wake up" and perform those actions on the fly?

Oh, man, that would be nice! I haven't tried it, but will when I'm in the truck next.

Update: I tried, it doesn't work. Grok says it can't remove the waypoints automatically as we approach.

Is everyone running free Grok or using a premium subscription? I was kind of hoping our trucks would get it free with premium connectivity, but it seems it will be another nickel/dime thing. You ask a few questions outside of directions and you done for 2 hours with navigation. It is so quick with the navigation and effortless, I now don't bother to have fun with Grok outside of navigation.

Whenever I ask Grok to do anything related to navigation or truck controls she says she can't do that. The voice assistant can do some things. Is that what you are talking about?

Not only did I use Grok while driving, I used to sit in the driveway and have a conversation with Ara when Grok was first available. About a month ago, Grog shut down. Said I had run out of time. Sign in. What??? So I downloaded the Grok app to my phone. Three options: 1. free, 2. $10 per month, 3. $300 per year. I opted for $10 per month and so far, I have had unlimited conversation time. Grok can do a ton of other stuff that I haven't had time to explore. But just using it for conversation (research) is well worth the money to me. Having Grok on my phone...I don't use Siri any more except to for timers, alarms, make calls or sent text.

We have conversations, and now arguments. I tell her the Cybertruck forum guys say she can do all these wonderful things and she says they are blowing smoke, though politely. I'm thinking she's just being coy and doesn't want to let on how much control she really has, or she's just lazy. ;)
