Just had the wiper motor mod on Friday. It’s raining today, so first chance to see it in rain. So it doesn’t come on automatically. And when I press the wiper button, it comes on for 10 swipes and turns off until I press the button again. Regardless of whether it’s in auto mode or any of the other modes. And now it’s also parking in the down position as well. Even when I parked it in our garage.

problem happens in FSD. So I turned off FSD and same problem. Tried software reset and have same problem.

I’m working with Tesla through the app, but so far no fix. Has anyone else experienced this?
Mine was doing the exact samething last week. Also speed settings made no difference. But now it is fine. Service center loaded the latest overalll update yesterday.

I don't think physically moving the arm on the motor will fix my issue. It parks fine, but when driving it moves onto the window a couple inches. Aligning it differently on the motor will just make it do that in a different clocking, but it will still be moving.
Seriously... that was my exact issue. Yes, mine parked ok... but it would wiggle over when driving. Tesla Mobile came back a month later to fix it. As stated all they did was move it 1 notch on the teeth.

Hmmm. My guess is that means it moves still, but you can't see it. Maybe it always did that. Unknown.

I also see there are other threads on wiper glitches and stuff after the recalls. I also saw my wiper twitching while driving.

I have an appointment to have it checked, but they haven't changed it to mobile so far.

No... Tesla came and swapped out my wiper motor due to the recall. It was working perfectly before they did it. After that, it didn't park well. So I decided to try it myself, and loosened the nut, pushed it into position, and locked it down to torque spec. I couldn't wrestle the thing off the spindle so I did the aforementioned. That allowed it to park, but it would wander over when driving it. It would still mostly park fine, but driving would push it over a bit. I opened my Tesla ticket and mobile returned a month later. That guy wrestled the wiper off the spindle and increased it 1 notch to the right. Problem solved and it worked perfectly.

Yes, take it to service. 10:1 it needs to be moved one notch to the right and will fix the issue.

As for the twitching... yeah that may be a different problem or they never torqued the nut down to spec. I'm guessing its probably related.

Oh, good to know. Thank you. I'll give that scenario a try. Separate question, I can look up to see if posted already, but I'm still on 2024.32.100 since Nov 1 delivery, is that normal? Thought I'd have a newer download by now.
Just as a follow up, I had a drive earlier. Can confirm that, for me, at 40mph and above, it parks at bottom like you mentioned, every single time. Under 40, it'll return home immediately after depressing button on wheel. Thanks for heads up on this. I feel it's working as intended.

Mine did the exact same thing after the recall repair. They sent a mobile van and all he did was redo the software. He said somebody probably skipped a step at the service center. Works good now except the blade now sits just a few inches off the edge. Not enough to be annoying.
Meant to ask, when you say “redo the software,” did you mean firmware? Or literally reload the software on the truck? Or reconfigure it?
Also, did they come out immediately since they caused the issue, or did you have to wait a month for a new service call?
I just left them a message telling them they should fix it immediately since they caused the issue. I’ll see what they say. I may have to push them some on it though. Hopefully they’ll do the right thing.
in the meantime, the wiper did eventually go back to the home position at some point while parked in the garage.

I scheduled a SC appointment to fix it and then they told me they had a service truck in Sioux Falls SD that was closer and they would send that. I did state that this was a dangerous situation having to press the wiper button every 10 swipes in a heavy downpour. The appointment was about a week from when I first contacted them about the problem. I don't know exactly what he did with the software. It only took him about 20-30 minutes to diagnose and fix the problem.

I took my truck to my local Tesla center, and their main tech looked and fiddled for 20 minutes with an update and reset.

First rain in months here and mine is doing the same thing 10x wipes and then stops. I have a service appointment already scheduled for a door release/open button not working. So I added this to the appointment.

They’re coming to our house tomorrow morning to hopefully fix the problem. To their credit, they’re coming as soon as possible rather than having to wait a month for another appointment.
i told them they needed to fix it ASAP since they accidentally screwed it up with the replacement. (And it was a safety issue.) They were very communicative and arranged for the follow up quickly.

I had that exact issue. Prior to my SC appointment, a software reinstall was pushed to my app and it fixed it.

They finished a little while ago. Whole job took maybe 20 minutes. Basically, firmware was never loaded after they replaced the motor. Now works fine.
