Fsd did bust my wiper when frozen to the windshield in Kentucky. I was able to put it back together and back on with a little effort. I also had ice buildup in front of my headlights I had to clear off.

Not recommended, but donkey kicking the bumper busts ice/ snow buildup free.

As most have said. Not really a big deal. In Massachusetts, I don't see any significant vampire drain until it gets down to about 0 degrees F.
The only other recommendation I would add is to get a foam Snow Broom/Snow Joe with the telescoping handle. Won't touch ice, but it makes it easy to clear snow (the triangle with no wiper cavity under the windshield is a lot easier to clear than most "traditional vehicles"). You can easily reach the whole vehicle with the handle extended, and it collapses into an easy to store size under the rear seat.
