No Wifi needed to download software update or just this time only.

I don't use or turn on wifi and this morning I was surprised the update is already downloaded and waiting to install. I've been waiting for updates at least 2 versions with no available for me in about 3 weeks: is this time important about car key so they just use their own internet connection to fix?

Do you normally have WiFi access disabled? The vehicle will periodically wake on its own and connect to available WiFi. Unless your configuration requires manual intervention, there's no need to manually connect and check for updates.

3 weeks (or more) sounds about right since the last update, I just got the .10 release that fixed my key card access this morning as well.

Wifi is off in my truck. My hotspot is also off on my iPhone.

Before it always asked to connect to wifi to download the update, not this time.

They've always had the capability to push updates over cell, they just usually don't. Perhaps the key card issue ranked important enough to push without WiFi. Possible there was a recall item in slipped in there.

Taking my truck in for third time to fix a WiFi issue, maybe this is the fix? I will say service has been excellent, this issue is restarting the computer fixes it and anything they do would do that and then it works, for a while . Sounds software.
