People were ordering FS, then putting their reservations on hold in hopes to skip the line and get an early non-FS before it opened to the general public.

There was a debate on if this would be allowed or not. Turns it was allowed… but it was also moot.

Personally, I was not happy with Tesla's marketing ploy on the CT. Made my deposit in 2019 for the dual motor and then they tried to sell me the Foundation Series if I wanted it now and pay over $20K more. I naturally declined and waited another three weeks to get the dual motor.
