well i'll be the first to ask. what does a 21 year old do to afford a cybertruck in cash? impressive work.
Software engineer! I don’t “consult” per se, but I try to seize every opportunity I am presented with. I have done projects for people, ran side hustles (SaaS), worked a 9-5, and more. My side hustles and projects have been my main income source as of late, I left my 9-5 software engineering job last year. I’m fortunate enough to have saved a lot of what I’ve made over the years and built valuable connections along the way. I am honestly still figuring out what I want to do long term and how I’m going to solidify a life for myself. To add, I’ve been infatuated with the computer and technology since I was 6, but only got “good” at coding about 2 years ago. Nobody in my family works in tech or anything adjacent. I was an early fan of Tesla WAY before I could afford one, lol.

Congrats! At just 21, you’ve earned your success through hard work—and you’re generous enough to share your journey with others.

Officially took delivery of my Cybertruck at 21 years old. No loans, no shortcuts, and no financial help from anyone. Raised by a single parent and didn't grow up rich by any means. Proud of this milestone and grateful for every lesson learned along the way. Hard work pays off and you can achieve what you set your mind to!

So AAROCK, what do you think now that you had the truck a few days?

Love it! Honestly no major complaints. The frunk panels are slightly off, but that’s about it cosmetic wise. Speakers/subs seem a bit “off” to me compared to my old 22’ Model 3 on the same EQ settings. I notice a bit of a rattle. However, it may just be because I’m a bit congested right now.

I got a speeding ticket when I was 18 going over 100mph (reckless, I know, never again) so that really affected it.
I do over 100 mph on a daily basis in my CT. I’m 56. Reckless I know. (Only on rural lonely roads)

Usually, the frunk panel alignment can be fixed by turning the little plastic standoff closure bumpers in or out. It can be a little counter-intuitive so some geometrical intelligence can help!

Way to keep your eye on the ball. I admire your ability to focus on long term goals and sacrifice the immediate for the sake of the future.

Congrats. It’s your money and do what you like. I bought a condo for $60k in 1993 while in high school. This condo is bring in $2,700/ month in rent. Even making great money yearly with bonuses 2x of a Cybertruck, I still regret spending so much money on it. My previous cars before Teslas were under $25k. Model 3 was the most expensive car I owned, then I fell into the Tesla trap and bought every single model. CT is my last and will not buy a Tesla again. Too many cars. Oh wait, roadster 2.0………
