Ok I am confused as F*** now. This is the first branding as such by Tesla as of yet?

Do you like this branding?

CT is a normal pickup doing normal things. But the new design looks better than the Graffiti IMO
If and when Tesla fully commits to a Cybertruck rebrand, you'll know because they will ditch the graffiti logo.

It's possible to make a decent graffiti-inspired logo. But, as stated elsewhere, the existing CT logo looks like something a nervous 15-year-old kid scrawled in haste on the dumpster behind Wendy's. I doubt that it resonates with most American full-sized pickup drivers, who probably skew white, rural, and law-and-order. On the contrary, I bet they think it's ugly.

Seriously though, if Tesla rebranded this as the Model U for trUck (Model T is taken) instead of the avant-garde named 'Cybertruck' that would probably help sales.

On a totally unrelated note, how does everyone feel about Ford's new logo announcement for the F-150 Lightning?

Some people were actually expecting "Model P" for "Pickup".

Then again, those people were also expecting the Model P to be based on the Model Y or Model X, and that didn't happen either.

Attachment doesn’t seem to work. They could also call it Model P, Model PK, Model 4x4, etc.

China is Tesla’s future; not America. The audience that Elon now wants to address is not the audience that wants what he’s selling, not in this country. People where I’m from (the real South of which Texas is not a part ) have been buying their choice of Ford or Chevy for generations and aren’t coming around to any fruity electric truck simply because Elon has been red-pilled.

Alienating his core customers here in the states would be imo a huge colossal nightmare if it weren’t for the fact that he doesn’t care about this market anymore.

But, I’ll tell you this right now - to the extent that the valuation and future of the company is based on putting partisan politically opinionated robots in people‘s homes - at a clip of 1 million per year - by ‘29 or ‘30 - that’s fucking crazy talk!

Energy, cars in China, robotaxis, and if they’re lucky a smattering of Optimus sales to industry and technophiles who still trust him is where Tesla’s future lies. All of these are incredibly tenuous.
So who doesn't LOVE CRAZY TALK

am i the only one who really likes the cybertruck logo?
Well it’s not like …”I love that CT logo”. A logo doesn’t do much for me and I was a Franchise owner for 49 year of one of the most recognized franchise Logo worldwide. Personally even our logo didn’t wow me. It’s the product that makes people come back again and again. I have purchase three Tesla because of the produce, services and charging network!

Looks like they have the range extender back there
Just found this article. It shows that same image more clearly and that appears to be the cargo divider. How it’s in there, I’m not sure since the LR doesn’t have an L-track.

The article also suggests the LR has 315 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque - we’ll see how accurate those numbers are as more people and companies get to test it.

Edit: Although the article is about the LR trim, that might be a photo of a higher trim. There appears to be full-length bed lights and I don’t see the hooks for the soft tonneau near the tailgate. But it’s definitely the cargo divider, not the range extender.

The new CT page does a much better job of actually describing the features of the truck, and Tesla vehicles in general. They've historically done a terrible job of actually explaining the features of the vehicles.

I also wouldn't read to much into a hat.

1,000,000+ plunked down $100 for the truck. No one would ever do that for an F-150 or Tundra, or Porsche, or a Rivian. Why? Price, range, and its design was (still is) the first futuristic AND capable vehicle in a generation. Due to a LOT of world issues, they only delivered ⅓ of the original truck (missed range and price). That’s the issue here.

The Cybertruck needs a commitment from Tesla to achieve the full 3/3 (bring price down, range up, keep the highly futuristic tech alive) for this to make it out of the niche corner they placed it in. The only way they break out into a Model Y like sales for this truck is a hyper focused effort on efficiency of production to decrease price and I think…a ½ price range extender (that they lose $$ on in the short run). Eventually-2027- that range needs to be out of the truck bed and in the belly of the Beast.

And the RWD is an OK start but the price is way off the mark. Yes, the F150 is the Model Y of the truck market. Tesla has to stay Big on this to compete, or go home.

Unfortunately, I saw (edit:) only a little hint of commitment to the Cybertruck on the Q1 update. (CT was not mentioned in the group of autonomous models coming by Elon) There is still a LOT of undecided buyers out there for the CT. A change in marketing is not the Tesla way. Never has been. A commitment to quality, price and tech is their way. And for the CT, range IS an issue stil because of the towing aspect.
I think the design was too far out there. That may have been ok when it was the only game in town, but with more competition like Rivian, it was brought into a more challenging environment.

The looks are one of the main reasons I'm still undecided about buying one. While I am a massive Tesla supporter, I've never been an Elon Kool-Aid drinker. I always looked at Teslas objectively, seeing both the good and the bad, without being blinded by anything. If they were better than their competition, I'd buy one.

If I read the tea leaves on a CT right now, if I buy one and I don't like it, I'd probably take a huge bath on it. It is a bit concerning when I read things that Tesla won't even take a CT in on trade on another Tesla. I've never heard of anything like that ever before.

I can assure you that the only thing that you’re not going to like about the truck is other people‘s reactions to it. It’s truly exceptional and does not deserve the vitriol that it receives.

It is a technological tour de force, engineered by a company at the top of its game. If you can put aside public perception and reaction you will be rewarded.

It's odd, but it appears to be true. You can easily buy a used S, 3, X, or Y through Tesla inventory. But Tesla will not sell you a used Cybertruck. That option does not exist at the inventory site.

Just curious, do you ever plan on owning a CT?
