Can't wait to see when these are fully AI, and not Teleoperated.

That is obviously a real person speaking through the robot from a remote location. Each voice was different on Optimus and its way to fluid verbally to be the actual robot speaking.

It also makes me think if the person speaking remotely also has on motion sensor suit to mimic movement. Like a robot avatar.

You could see Tesla employees consistently whispering to the Robots as well. It was as if the remote operator had a difficult time seeing or hearing the people, so it just defaulted to random act whether that was a peace sign, a wave, or a confused look.

Yeah. I noticed that too. Its better than the last time when they had a person in a costume but they still seem far away from Optimus. 10 years or more.

I dunno. I watched the event. It was hard to feel excited about Optimus pouring drinks when Boston Robotics are already capable of doing backflips. Seems like Tesla is pretty far behind when it comes to robots.
A backflip isn't that impressive of a feat. It's just mechanics.

Optimus is all about the AI and it just isn't there yet. Having said that Tesla can leverage FSD and they have a lot of compute power coming online so the AI should hopefully mature fairly quickly, even then we are likely still years away.

Boston Robotics has been around for a while but until they get a brain they are mostly just a parlor trick. They are not designed for mass production like Optimus and don't have Tesla's AI expertise.

For those attending… please post your thoughts and interactions with Optimus!

I was at the Event. I was by the Gazebo when the shades were raised which was very cool. The TeslaBots were Gen 2. It is pretty amazing that they were comfortable enough to have the bots mingling with humans instead of behind metal screens. They have been working on the Gen 3 version now for some time so who knows if they continue to train with these. It may depend how different the Gen 3 is beyond tendon actuated hands.

If they would allow reservations I would reserve two in a second.

Here is my todo list for my robots:
1. Cleaning house 2 hr

2. Washing cars .5 hr

3. Washing windows .5 hr

4. Cleaning gutters .1 hr

5. Cleaning solar panels .1 hr

6. Do laundry .3 hr

7. Cooking 2 hr

8. Doing dishes 2 hr

9. Gardening 3 hr

10. Home security 4 hr

11. Helping when doing jobs around house 2 hr

12. Helping shopping 1 hr

13. Kitty litter .2 hr

14. Put out trash .1 hr

15. Compost .1 hr

16. Get mail .1 hr

17. Organize and put things

away .5 hr

18. Feed the animals .5 hr

Total 16.5 hrs per day

Optimus robots are controlled by humans. They're fancy expensive puppets.
