Poor Powershare Install by Vendor

Qmerit performed the PowerShare install for a friend, the job looked unprofessional so I'm reaching out on his behalf for possible next steps. What has your experience been? After complaining about the install, they came back, but not much was changed. Here are a few notes, but I'll let the images speak:

1. Aluminum wires instead of Copper
2. Poor weather proofing
3. No use of conduit
4. Improper application of foam
5. Cut wire jacket
6. No strain relief
7. No cable support
8. Out of pocket $600 city inspection fee was never completed
9. Little things: trash on site (drinking cup, wire clippings, dirty rag), late arrival for first and second visit, missing Milwaukee 18 vote battery

I think aluminum is pretty typical at that gauge, my service mains were aluminum prior to installing the Powershare. My electrician opted to use copper though (technically at their own expense, since the cost didn't change) because it was slightly thinner and easier to bend and manage in conduit.

Was that work inspected? I can't imagine that wire is allowed to be exposed outside or even out of the wall cavity in the interior. My install wasn't as attractive as I'd have liked, but it was professional. I would have refused to pay for either version of your install and insisted on an inspection.

Have to say mine was done very professionally. Mine went thru a full city inspection. I don’t see how your install can pass an inspection.

Still no inspection and I think it was completed before May 5th.

in my area, when you call for an inspection, they come the next day. It’s actually annoying because you can’t schedule it, call leave a voice mail, and they show up sometime the next day. Also you should tell your friend, not to pay Qmerit until the inspection is complete. I think they didn’t let me pay until then.
