So, I got the powershare installed in May, before I got my CT.
Last night, this just showed up on my tesla app....

I guess it's working now!
Such a strange experience for a $6,500 purchase. $4K install plus $2,500 equipment.

Do you have 3rd party solar? Just curious why it took so long. I still have yet to have it enabled and it’s been installed since April.

Yes. I have 3rd party Solar (not Tesla).
I'm just glad it's finally enabled.

Such a bizarre process... no one to call to talk to, no support for this tech.

You said you got the power share installed and equipment purchased before you got your truck?
how did that work? Did you get the $2500 back after you got the truck or were you out all the equipment you paid for?
I have my quote and the installer is ready to go but I am lacking my truck. I didn’t think I could get it going without having the truck.
more information please. As I would really like it installed asap!

I did get the equipment installed before I got my truck. Tesla shipped out all to me/ the installer.
I didn't have to pay for the equipment, just the install - which I got the powershare equipment and the universal charger.
So, it was all ready to go when my VIN was assigned and the truck arrived.

I agree the process sucks. If you email them you get no response. If you call they have no answers. I called yesterday and they said it was 1 person that is enabling the vin to make the system active, no matter when you received your truck or when system was installed.

The process sounds like it changed.

1. I received the survey about powershare
2. I filed the survey out..... weeks later
3. I got an email saying my house was eligible and if I wanted an estimate by tesla installer
4. Installer came out and did their thing
5. I got another email with the cost quote (just for the labor / permits etc). As the Fountain Series include all the necessary equipment
6. I accepted the quote
7. We scheduled an install date
8. All the equipment was shipped to my doorway on a pallet a few days before the install date
9. Installation was completed
10. Inspections... blah blah

The charger worked right away, once I got my Truck a few weeks later. But the powershare wasn't enabled until a few days ago.

I believe the $2,500 credit is instead of the powershare equipment.

It felt like something was enabled on the back end.... like they got to me on the list and flipped it on.

God- I hope I never have to get the thing serviced. Who would I talk to...

I finally received an email today from Tesla on this and now I’m even more confused if yours is live and no different than my system. Here is the email that I received.


I reached out to the engineer over the Powershare program and he advised that your system has the solar running through your new Gateway3 and that they are working on a Firmware update to allow they solar and Powershare feature to coincide together through the Gateway3. He did not give me date as to when that update would be sent out but advised that is why your VIN has not been flagged for the Powershare feature.

I put it into the category of, when they get to me. . It'll get sorted+patience.
