I installed PowerShare in my home and with the freezing temperatures coming to Texas Monday - Wednesday I am wondering if and when I should charge my CB to 100%? I have always charged it to 80% but wondering if it is good idea to charge it 100% on Monday afternoon and keep it plugged in until Wednesday in case of power outages so I can use my truck to power my home. And if there is no power outage is it ok to keep the truck at 100% plugged for the 2 days just in case?

Yes, charging it to 100% and keeping it there for several days is no problem at all. It's just something you don't want to do all the time, but don't be afraid to do it when you think you might need it.

My PowerShare has kicked in several times since I got it last May, it's fantastic.

thank you, I have had it since October and done some manual test by turning off the main breaker ect and the powershare kicked in immediately, but this is the first time that I may have to use it for an area wide outage.

I should know the answer to this since I have power share and only had to kick on once for five minutes, but cool nonetheless!

My question is if I don’t have my truck plugged in and power goes out, would simply plug-in the connector into the cyber truck charge port kick in and start to back up the house? I assume so , but don’t know for sure.

Yep (or at least it should, mine isn't installed yet to verify). Truck powers wall connector which powers gateway which flips the disconnect and tells wall connector to tell Truck to send the juice.

Since truck is non-grid interactive, Powershare basically always starts up dark. (Though technically, the Truck could keep wall connector powered all the time, I don't expect they do that so as to save energy).

Is there a problem with PowerShare and solar? I have a grid tied solar system that is not from Tesla. I think that there may be an issue with the 'islanding' feature which prevents a power source from back feeding to the grid when it's down. If you have a solar system and a PowerShare system, I can see there may be an issue with which device is in charge of providing the islanding feature to prevent a safety issue to line workers.

The software needed to allow all those systems to coexist and PowerShare to function has not been released yet. I have the gateway installed and I can see everything in the app but can’t use the truck to power the house. Hopefully sometime this spring the software will come out.

Tesla has yet to release Powershare software that works with another source of generation, be it solar or Powerwalls.
