I always assumed it would be a removable trim piece?
I think he’s talking about the sill under the rear window - just forward of where the tonneau emerges from within the bulkhead.

No, the steel cross member over the top of the window. Whatever we're calling that.

Maybe that's gone. Or smaller. Don't think it's user removable, or intended to be anyway.

Ah, gotcha

Well, it likely serves an important purpose

Namely, when the tonneau is open, to keep debris and falling water out of the upward-facing mouth of the tonneau track.

Which is why I call it the rear window “eave”

and similarly, the feature under the window a “sill” - not just because where it’s located, but because I suspect it has an slight downward slant toward the bed to keep debris but mostly water from settling at the base of the window and the location of the mouth of the tonneau.

But yes, there could be other ways to skin these cats

All wrong. Its existence is to fuel feuds with strangers on the internet. Also meant for a chicken stoop.

suppose that’s better than it being there so that I have to tell the guy at the gravel yard that my bed is too small to use a full sized loader, and could he please instead go get the cute little bobcat loader

he’ll tell me his full sized loader can just help remove that eave

I for one plan to car camp slot back there. Go to fish the night before, wake up early and go fish. Or stay late at night and just come in at 1-3am and camp.
A 6’ bed Tacoma with a camper shell has more space than a CT with its tonneau closed.

And a camper shell has windows/vents for fresh air.

I spent 3 months living solo out the back of a 6’ bed Tacoma with a camper shell.

So, I ain’t saying it can’t be done in the CT, I’m just knowing it won’t be for everyone

esp those that were counting on a midgate + 6.5’ bed allowing for fresh air, side-by-side sleeping for two, etc.

As for you?

You coulda just said “I fish” and I’d know you’d sleep in the Frunk if it meant time on water. (My dad was a pro B.A.S.S. fisherman.)
