Were you able to format and partition the Tesla thumb drive? I haven’t been able to partition it. What did you use?

The partitions have to be formatted in fat 32. I formatted the whole thumb drive in fat 32. It worked for me. That said it stopped recording dash cam footage. Still have to work that out.

Well, it worked after erasing the thumbnail drive, and reforming it to fat32 but now the dash cam and security files don’t know where to go. I think if I make some directory files for them, that will fix it. I was not able to partition the Tesla thumbnail drive. I don’t know why, but it will not allow it. If anyone knows of a good workaround, please let me know.
Here the deal, if you reformat the USB on your computer then you have to manually add the Sentry and dashcam folders in. Otherwise they don't know where to save. Check the manual for naming conventions. There's a section telling you exactly how to do it.

If you use the truck to format it then it should automatically add the proper folders.

Be sure to select the correct switches in Boombox.

Yes, mostly working.... found a music file in mp3 format, saved 8 seconds (125 kb), converted to .wav (1.5 mb). Too big! Repeated music rip and edit for 4 seconds of mp3 (75kb), converted to .wav (998 kb). Changed file name to LockChime.wav, put on the Tesla USB at the root level, and now the music works. I upped the volume by adding 9 db gain while editing, which turned out good.

However, the dash cam is now not working, or rather, records a 65 mb file every 30 seconds, continuously. This has been disabled now. An odd behavior certainly.

Once I reformatted the thumb drive with fat32, and installed the proper LockChime sound. In my case, it was the cylon, “By your command!“,wav. I created new file folders. The first file folder was “TeslaCam“. That took care of the dash cam footage. I then created one for my music. I haven’t figured out how to get that to work yet, but I can always play it from my iPhone, through Bluetooth. Works like a charm.
