Prospective Buyer with Questions

I am considering buying a CT and have a few questions for the community.
First, a bit of a background. I'm not new to Tesla. This would be the fourth one. I have recently sold my Model X and bought a Juniper Y Performance. We also have another Model Y. I missed the size and the utility of the Model X, as well as some of the nicer finishes, like the Alcantara and the large windshield.

At the same time, I keep finding myself in need of a truck both for work and home. So, that's why I'm considering a Cybertruck.
Questions:

1. How is the build quality in 2026, compared to Juniper Y. Any rattles? Is the cabin quiet?
2. How is the driving dynamic? Is it more like the Y or more like the X?
3. Are you guys getting harassed by other drivers still? I haven't experienced anything like that with any of our Teslas, but I live in Chicago suburb and here just about every other car is a Tesla.
4. Any other advice?

The Cybertruck has been our most enjoyed vehicle of the last decade. I went from being called shit by conversatives when EVs were “political” to shit by liberals when Elon got “political”. If anyone judges you based on what you buy, fuck em.

Go drive one, if you want/need a bigger vehicle like our family did it’s a no brainer.

The stainless steel exterior is great in Chicago winters with caked on salt. I went weeks without a car wash this past winter. And in the spring, put it in extract mode and spray the underbody to get rid of any residual salt.

Just go demo drive one, you’ll love it. Took me a few trips to get used to the wider body coming from my M3P. Still love it 76k miles later.

I don't care if someone flips me off. I've been driving Teslas for years. I only had someone swerve into me, getting bent out of shape, a few years ago. I'm more concerned about my wife being harassed if she drives it.

I have a demo scheduled for tomorrow. @Limes2 how is the truck in the snow? Love the idea of not having to deal with the salt on the paint.

Also, I have Solar with Powerwall 3s, does anyone know what I need to add the truck as a back up for the house?

I’m 3 hours east of Chicago, handles in snow great. Just get winter rated tires and it’ll be a dream. Powerwall does not support powershare yet, big gripe on forum. Idk about powerwall3 but I have my powershare wired to point as if my solar was grid through a combiner panel and 3 eg4 6000xps and batteries. Once that goes down powershare takes over and supplies a sub panel in my garage to backfeed house.

I had no issues with the standard tires this past winter.

I ran into issues with salt spray on the big windshield on the tollway at 70 MPH. The wiper & washer fluid doesn't really clean that white salt spray residue off at highway speeds. FSD would complain it couldn't see and I would really have to soak the whole thing with long sprays of the washer, while going slow in traffic, to get it really clean.

Ended up going through a gallon of washer fluid in a couple of weeks and carry window cleaner along with my snow brush and other winter gear now. A spray bottle with washer fluid helps too when the cameras get covered with salt. Mostly the rear one and a quick spritz clears away the salt.

I plan to replace the wiper this fall to see if that helps. It's already past the recommended one year replacement interval.

I mainly get the finger, although that hasn't happened much, that I noticed. It's strange that people do that; I cannot imagine ever flipping the bird to someone because of the vehicle they are driving...that's weird and psychotic.

We only have Teslas and have had them for years now. When someone asks me about it, I always tell them the same thing...

First, one should do some serious self reflecting if a complete stranger's choice of vehicle is causing them such emotional distress. It's really a sign you're not well.

Second, Tesla is 100,000 people who work hard to make it all happen. Yeah, I don't like that one guy either... but what about the 99,999 of those (give or take) who aren't him? Musk only owns 13% of Tesla stock. That means that nearly 90% of people and institutions who own the company are not him. What about those folks?

I then ask them if they wear Hugo Boss, or drive a Ford, or Porsche (boy, look up that founder) or BMW, or Mercedes, or Audi (talk about Nazi forced labor, yikes) or take Bayer aspirin, or buy any Bosch products, or ride in elevators made by Krupp, or bank with Deutsche Bank... because if they do any of those things, I have some distressing news for them.

But, I digress...

first off, you said you had a family; the Tesla cyber truckhas been voted with the safest truck in the world. That should be enough to start. secondly, you will quickly notice the wonders of steer by wire and rear wheel steering.. when you get back into any other TESLA, or any other car for that matter, it feels like a truck! My Cyber Beast feels like you’re driving a big ass sports car that embarrasses Corvettes at the stoplight. . I have full self driving in the foundation series for life and I love it. 90% of my driving is by full self driving. Take it from an old guy that was born and raised in Chicago on far south side.
