The door buttons are supposed to work! It’s a safety issue for humans. What if someone needs to emergency exit the vehicle? Are they supposed to exit dog mode first? No that’s dumb.
You must not own dogs, or at least never transport them in your Cybertruck.

  • A human can use the emergency lever.
  • A human can read the screen, which could show "please step on the brake to exit the vehicle" or something similar.
  • I've been in cars where the interior latches would not work while the door is locked. No one died because of it.
  • If it's in Dog Mode, why are there people inside??

You all realize there’s child safety locks right? Use that instead of complaining about dog mode.
Child safety locks only work for the backseat. Try again.

First off, why not state that dog mode should be used for pets only. Not humans. If you have a human in there, just leave the car on while you do your errands.

And how hard do you think it is to push a software update and have a big "door unlock" button on the screen, plus you have a freakin very accessible "emergency door open lever" in the front seats.

You truly don't get our point. Dog mode is designed for pets, not humans. People should have faith that if they activate dog mode, then their pets are safe. Right now, it does not suit that purpose. I know I will not use the mode unless additional pet safety measures are adopted.
dog mode is for climate. Rtfm

Dog is designed to maintain a comfortable cabin temperature for your pet while you actively and frequently monitor this temperature using the mobile app (which requires both your phone and the vehicle to have cellular connectivity). When in Dog, the touchscreen displays the current cabin temperature to inform people passing by that your pet is safe. This setting is not intended for people, and should only be used for short periods of time while you stay in close proximity should you need to return to the vehicle in situations where the temperature can no longer be maintained.

My whole point is people use dog mode when they go into the store and leave their dog unattended, hence the "My owner will be back soon. Don't worry...." is displayed on the screen. Therefore if people use this mode when their dogs are unattended, then it would make logical sense for Tesla to ensure their safety also, right? Being able to unlock the front doors and roll down the front windows does not create a safe environment."

As a young child, my old dog ran out of our car one day during a family vacation. The dog ran out into traffic and got run over. That scenario is now burnt into my brain and I don't want that to play out again.

than find a solution now and don’t wait for Tesla. Get a restraint as The Tesla Guy recommended.

I agree, DOG MODE should isolate and disable ALL electric window and door opening switches/buttons, both front and rear! BTW, there is STILL the manual emergency door handle if needed by humans. Hell, most kids insist on using this handle all the time, anyhow.

I can tell you If our dog escaped and was injured while securely sitting in a CT in DOG MODE.... my wife would make sure the CT was gone, I was gone, and I would seriously fear for Elon.
