I got my FIRST FINGER!! what a bage of honor.
It’s been two full months of CT ownership and I got my first obvious negative reaction.
Full blown finger in my face for no apparent reason.

My wife set the over/under at 3 hours for the first finger when I first picked it up. I lasted less than an hour and got a finger with one hand and jack off motion from the other. He also was in Portland and looked Antifa-ish (no job and just causes destruction to our city for reasons)…

Most of my reactions were stares or quick photo of my CT on the next lane, I had two people come up and say cool truck can I take a picture. So far nothing offensive or crazy. I did have one truck roll coal on the lane next to me ?

I got my Cyber Beast on the 14th of August after waiting for almost 4 and half years. It’s everything I expected and some. Like many I wish there were some things different, but not going to cry over it because after a while most of those things I and others want become moot and unused. Anyway, driving down the road minding my own business and all of a sudden I see in the side mirror a person in a truck giving me the middle finger. What’s all that about? Why the angry? Is it the design? Is it that it’s an EV? Is it Elon Musk? I just don’t get it. I don’t see people giving the middle finger to any other trucks (or any vehicle) whether it’s an EV or not. At first, I thought it was someone thinking I should buy an American half-ton truck, but it ended up being a small puny Toyota Tacoma. Well, if that was the case, I want to say CyberTruck is more American than any other truck on the road. Yeah some might say that Tacoma and some other trucks are made here, but like Toyota, Nissan, and Ram are foreign owned. Meaning at the end of the day the money is going overseas. So, to end, I will give all these haters my one finger salute ? right back to them.

They can't do there typical BS they pull with Prius, Mini, Leaf drivers.

Geography also something that may play into it. I'm rural so it's mostly just people thumbing down when it's negative. Or throwing there hands in the air "OMG this looks like Star Wars" and put their hands in the air. I even had an older woman come out of a casino and just ask "So you like this?" not "how do you like it?" lol

Anecdotally, it appears to be left leaning Elon haters. Most report it in places like California or big cities.

I had one person flip me off at a 4-way, they also had a bumper sticker that said I sold my Tesla when Elon lost his mind.

At least where I live, people in general do not care about what you drive. The CT gets more attention than others and people are curious and some will tell you it's awesome and some will tell you it's ugly, but people aren't angry about it.

Elon Musk IMO.
Again, why the hatred towards him? If anything he should be admired for what he has done. Made Tesla what it is, founded SpaceX, the Boring Company, and Nuralink. Something most only dream of.

In contrast, on my drive this morning while stopped at some lights an older lady in the car next to me waved and gave me the thumbs up. I appropriately waved back and let out a huge smile.

Freedom of expression but some expressions are better kept inside I guess ?

My understanding is that currently of all the pickups on the market, ICE or BEV, the CT/CB has the highest percentage of parts made in America and is of course also assembled in the USA making it the most American-made truck truck on the market, unless it has recently been usurped. Maybe someone else can either confirm or correct me on this.

There is a lot of anti-cybertruck sentiment out there, stoked by countless articles and troll posts online.

We have to avoid politics on this forum but I have a theory as to why and I will steer clear of the politics component here:

Pickup trucks account for over 16% of USA auto sales, which by and large are gas guzzlers. Imagine the hit to profits at oil companies that would happen if all those drivers stopped buying gasoline. I think that is a powerful motivation for a media smear campaign, which appears to be incredibly effective thus far. My thought is that this has a lot to do with those middle fingers from random others in the wild but surely the looks are also polarizing as is Elon these days so throw those all in the mix. There may be other factors as well, like flat out jealousy or envy.

Just my take.

Cheers.

I get them as well.... and just smile knowing that here I am driving this friggin AWESOME truck that has this magic ability to show people for who they are on the inside, and that they are probably on their way to their weekly therapy session :)
