At the minimum it's disorderly conduct, and actionable. This is exactly why I suggested he not back down, since there will always be people who try to shrug off stuff like this.

There is some infraction spitting on sidewalk stuff designed to harass undesirables, but it is rarely enforced and can be beaten under equal protection. Destruction of property is called criminal mischief. Damages are an element. Maybe intent to harass in a small number of places. Probably also an infraction. Disorderly conduct isn’t a catch all And generally wouldn’t apply. It has specific elements. Good luck getting it filed. Even it was, it’s not worth the time it takes to go to court and testify. The prosecutor will want nothing to do with it. Nor the cop. It would be amended to an infraction or health code violation to make it go away. It’s just one vindictive act of pettiness followed by another. Those people have real things to deal with and they are all way overwhelmed with work. It is better to have no lawyer than a jailhouse lawyer.

It’s just that they deal with murders/rapes/car jackings/kidnappings/everything else. They can’t worry about every time someone spits on a car. It’s obviously a horrible thing to do and that dude’s a piece of human garbage for doing it, but police and courts don’t need to be tied up with such things.

Did he take his sweet time in getting out of the way? Yes.
Is the lane narrow with barely enough room to start? Yes.
Did CT owner start driving without being sure the pedestrian was absolutely clear. Definitely.
This is an imperfect situation from the beginning. Both parties could do better. Like another poster said, adding this situation as a footnote in your life would be idiotic. Do a better job of picking your battles. Or not, lol, but really, ignore these plebs.

On a more serious note though, it seems that my original post offended you in some way, not intended, I guess you have not had someone spit on your car or have someone intentionally hit your car, its frustrating and it may be ok for some to say ignore it, the reality is its plain wrong. But I guess you would be ok with it.

Driving home from a night out, my gf gets the middle finger directed at her in the passenger seat. Then a few minutes later, a second middle finger. Next thing I know she's hanging out the window telling the middle finger person a few polite things...

I explained to her that we can't become what we hate and she said she won't do that again. Kill them with kindness.

In a regular old rental car out of state, my kids were screaming excited to see a CT on the road (we have one at home).

I look to my right and see a woman in a minivan making the “I’m so repulsed I’m going to throw up” face at the Cybertruck. So childish.

I had to laugh because a pure human reaction (kids) and the walking dead (brainwashed TikTok rotten minded) is so stark.

Edit: to be clear… I know its looks are not for everyone… but there’s no way a gag reflex is an actual non-influenced response. That’s a learned behavior specifically trying to make that owner (and their family including kids) feel bad.
