Powder-coats can be protected with waxes or sealants. But does it need to be?

I'm going to buff a little hard wax on mine. Wax is one of my favorite methods of keeping all kinds of things clean and easy to maintain. Quick and easy and reducing washing effort afterwards.

This makes me wonder if the tonneau cover will fade over time in the sun. I know this obviously wasn't the cause of THIS, but definitely has me wondering.

Anything will fade under the sun.

Update on my earlier post. The new cover Tesla replaced with is uniform and even now. (Taken this morning so there’s still some condensation on the vehicle.)
Looks even to me as I walked around and looked at it from different angles.

I did see that just a striker adjustment to the door is not recommended due to stress
