Question about Headlights; from those who've driven it.

I live in a pretty rural area. Few streetlights. I'm surprised how difficult it is to judge my turns at stop signs in the dark. I've heard that Adaptive headlights are now legal in the U.S. For those that have actually driven the CT, what's the side vision like when turning at a dark intersection? Is there some Spill to the sides? Does turning the turn signal on do anything to light up toward that side?
