Rattling Tailgate

How many others have experienced this Tailgate Rattle!!! At 13000 kilometers!

Mine just started doing the same thing at ~6k miles. VIN 69k. Known issue, adhesive failure. Schedule SC visit, it’s covered under warranty.

Appointment is in a few days, i’ve heard they replace it…. so of course wondering, is the issue fixed or will it just happen again?

Unfortunately my truck was actually bought back for this issue and they have fixed it on all the panels but the doors and the tailgate, I got my new truck in June and they still hadn’t fixed the doors or tailgate so maybe now they are but I’m not sure

2025 7000 miles. Knocked on each panel and the tailgate is the only one that rattles. I will bring that up as my first service along with several other things. Do they address the
windshield wiper ghost issue?

I had the same issue and I just had the tailgate replaced. Brand new tailgate from Austin, and the new one is loose too. It doesn’t rattle, but the panel moves. They said it’s “in spec”. We’ll see. If it gets looser and starts rattling, I’ll take it back.

Going on one year (Aug 22/2024 )with the CTB and no rattles. know a few folks with over 15k and no rattles. Wonder if a certain run of tailgates had this issue.

Yeah.. or if certain environmental conditions make the adhesive fail. We’ll never know!

UPDATE: I'm not the OP, but I just had this issue 'fixed' without them replacing the tailgate like others have said their Service Centers did. The note says 'the technician adjusted and re-secured the outer panel of the tailgate from the inside of the assembly.'

I have a feeling I'll be going back soon... but hopefully i'm wrong.
