After I received my VIN on 9/12/2024, I thought that maybe it would be like a week or two. Nope, received a message through the app, then two phone calls from Santa Barbara confirming my delivery appointment time on FRIDAY THE 13th... yup, and my name is Jason... oh boy!!
Anyway, I I didn't get much sleep that night. Woke up in the morning had some coffee couldn't wait to leave to drive down to Santa Barbara. It all seems so surreal as you're driving down there knowing that your longed vehicle is sitting there for you and it's really interesting how you pick up your truck you pick it up through the app. You get your keys from the dealership attendant and he shows you where it is and answers any questions that you may have. I was so excited. I didn't know what to ask. First walked onto the lot. My truck was the only one there besides the demo and all the people still waiting had reservations since 2019. I almost felt guilty for picking mine up today. My delivery was absolutely flawless. I got in the car and it's been a rush ever since I haven't slept much in the last couple days I've managed to wrap the side doors and the back tailgate of which I've discovered that I really need to wrap the whole thing for all match in clear PPF. I bought my PPF clear wrap in a kit on Amazon. I'm sure you've already seen it. It's pretty easy to do for me. I really enjoy rapping. It's so satisfying. I think I'm going to relax and enjoy the stainless steel look for a while.
I wanted to take a moment and share something all about gained already. Perhaps maybe somebody else can learn from this. I made a terrible mistake of going through the car wash after going to sand in my new truck. It was a self serve car wash and I wasn't prepared to wash it, but come from the old school of thought that you should ALWAYS wash off the underbodY AFTER YOU drive on the beach., Well, the water spots were so bad that I spent over 5 hours getting rid of them. And I tried so many different cleaners, etc. The ONLY one that worked for me was the CRLM in a spray bottle. I literally spend about 4 hours getting all those damn rust spots out.
It still feels surreal. I LOVE THE TRUCK! There was no problems, hiccups, and this has all been the most amazing experience for me.. There is no doubt that I will be doing a color wrap in the future. But for now, I'm going to get lost in the marvel and wonder of this beautiful machine. Anyone in or around the Central Coast of California want to hang out and talk Cyber talk?
Also, I was under the impression that I could get away with just putting some clear PPF on the high traffic areas and be okay. Ohhhhhh Nooooo... IT CHANGES THE COLOR, so now I have to do the whole truck of course. But it's been a blast and I will gladly get it done. Here is a link to the PPF I used from Amazon. Already pre-cut into sections and pretty straight forward on how to use your patients.
