Received VIN in Ohio

Anyone know if getting assigned a VIN means the vehicle is in transit to dealer? Is it coming by train from Texas? A message in my Tesla app says they estimate arrival on 4/27, but I am unable to schedule delivery appointment. Hoping they work with me on being out of town May 2-6th and I can take delivery before or after.

VIN in 7800s

Never owned a Tesla, but I did go visit the truck at Tesla showrooms and car shows in January/February 3 times where they took down everyone's email.

VIN assignment means it's likely enroute from the factory or about to be in the next 24-48 hours. VIN 7800 means this is probably the case(and not already at the delivery center) as it's recent in terms of latest production numbers.

VIN to delivery is typically 14 days, +/- 2 days. Hopefully you are not out of town as they usually will only hold for 3 days or so.

Do you know if I have to sign anything in person on delivery day? If I am out of town, could I say have my brother go pick up the vehicle and I sign and complete everything on the app? Thanks!

I don't believe this is possible unless you specified them as a secondary registrant in reg details in the app. I do believe there is in person signing and ID check on delivery day.

Congrats! Where abouts are you located in Ohio?

I'm in the Akron\Canton area. Mine shipped on 3/31. I just called (again) and the truck in the system still shows as "in shipment". The delivery center hasn't notified me or have been able to schedule a pickup. I know the pedal issue threw a wrench into timing some, but yeah, next week will be a month post shipping out.
