I’ve tried several reliever hitch pins to lock my receiver in and they are too short? What engineer made it none standard? Anyone have the same issue?

All of mine have fit with no issues. It's pretty much a standard receiver. Just make sure that it is the right size pin, it should basically fit with no slop. It could be possible that you are trying a pin for the smaller receiver.

Head to Walmart or Home Depot and see what they have.

I know it is a late response, but on the chance others are looking for recommendations as well.

I bought and just installed the 2" Locking Trailer Hitch Pin from Rhino along with their 2" Shackle Hitch Receiver. I had no problems getting the pin installed and locking/unlocking thereafter. Enough clearance whereas I had seen some others not allow for the key to be inserted.

Everything has a lifetime warranty and would recommend checking them out. You can go direct or amazon. I'd go direct and "sign up" to get a 15% discount. on first order.
