Regret purchasing FSD

As a night shift person... FSD is very helpful on those days where you are just dead tired on the way home.

Yea the breaks on long highway drive wakes you up. Something about the boring steering that makes your eyes heavy. Great for bumper to bumper traffic too.

Why didn’t you purchase cyber beast?

This is my first Tesla. The acceleration is super fun but way more than I generally want. I leave it on “Chill“ most of the time. Can’t imagine what a CyberBeast would feel like.

Just worked a stretch of 3 12-hour shifts back to back. Definitely appreciated the FSD those days. It’s certainly growing on me.

Using FSD on the coastal/cliffside roads to Big Sur gives the driver much more appreciation for the scenery especially thru the biggest windshield in any consumer vehicle! No regrets here!

Standard Auto Pilot covers most of my normal use cases. Disappointing that Tesla will not offer that for CT.

On a 4600 mile round trip (~45hrs each way) you won't regret it! I would never have done a nonstop 45hr trip before FSD and the cybertruck.

I do understand your situation however as I still drive it many places (it see's a lot of HWY driving as thats boring).

I understand what you’re saying. I think FSD is amazing and I use it every day, but it is a lot of fun to drive the cybertruck I always start out driving manually, then switch to FSD when the drive gets boring. I drove a Ford F150 and it’s not even comparable to the Cybertruck in my opinion.

I will switch to FSD when the driving becomes either too boring or too exciting (as in I don't know where I'm going in an unfamiliar place with complex exchanges). In the difficult situations, it will make occasional mistakes, but less than I do (when I don't know where I'm going). By handing off duties in complex and unfamiliar situations, it frees me up to pay more attention to the surrounding traffic, reading the signs and generally making sure FSD is doing it right.

I’ve had a 2025 AWD truck for 3 weeks now. Purchased FSD as part of promotion. I’ve regretted purchasing FSD, but only because this truck is so much fun to drive. FSD is still incredibly impressive. But the steer by wire combined with rear wheel steering is mind blowing. Seriously feels like driving the future. My wife described it like going from a typewriter to a laptop. Technically a F150 or Tundra does the same basic things, but no where near with this capability and ease of use. I initially thought $80,000 was a little high, but after 3 weeks, that’s exactly a fair price for the leap forward this truck is. Tesla would move a whole lot more of these if people could experience driving them. Don’t judge it til you drive it!

Well said! I completely agree! However, at my advanced age, I love being driven around by my truck even more than driving it myself. I am blown away by the accuracy and intelligence of FSD. I was so amazed years ago when I was driven around in a Tesla and experienced early self driving for the first time, and now that I have a Cybertruck (Maximilian), I am absolutely in love. I’ve had my CT since 5/2024. Sure the thrill of driving is hard to compare with any vehicle. But eventually that thrill wears down and you get used to the difference. But that’s when the thrill of using FSD kicks in and takes over.

I have 3 Tesla’s now… a CT, Y, and M3. It’s like buying your first smartphone after owning a flip phone. You never wanna go back. (How many people do you see today using a flip phone? Or a typewriter?)

My new model Y just got the FSD v14.1.4 upgrade — it’s simply amazing, especially the end-to-end driving. Can’t wait til it arrives on my CT!!!!

My trucks lives on fsd. I literally never drive lol.

I also bought FSD and was thinking the same thing. But after about a month or so into it.. I started using FSD a lot more, now I’m spoiled on it. It’s great to sit back and relax for my commutes. Also took a 8 hour road trip and the FSD was clutch. Just sit back and enjoy. Every now and then, I will drive analog for a little fun, it’s still just as fun as day one…

To me, FSD is very helpful on stop-and-go traffic; especially after a long day of work, and just wanted to go home without being stressed out by the traffic jam...... pressed a button, sat back, and just let the car drive me home.

STFU regretting FSD pales in comparison to the abject waste of money Foundation Series is and forever will be because it’s a coffin unless you want to lose your ass selling.
