Just to add my datapoint to this thread. Long time Model 3 owner (2018). Cybertruck owner since July.

My phone key issues started about a week ago since returning from oversees trip. Phone key is dropped from Cybertruck when parked. Relatively easy to reproduce at home in my case.
1. Go out to car.
2. Setup phone key in Tesla app. All good.
3. Go back to house. Wait about 5-10 mins.
4. Check app and Tesla app states it need to setup phone key.
5. Goto 1.

Older model 3 is solid. No issues.
Also weirdly I have full access to the Cybertruck via 3-party apps even when phone key is not setup.
Together this make me think this is a bug in the Tesla app.
This is exactly what I’m experiencing. Thank you for doing a better job of describing the issue! It would be nice to have a way to report bugs to Tesla, especially since we’re basically paying a $20k premium to be their beta testers…

3rd party apps have full access to your Tesla?! Yikes. That is insane to me, knowing what's possible in the cyber security world these days.

Quick update. I discovered that this issue only occurred at home and not while parked at other locations. It didn’t matter if the car was connected or not to WiFi.

I think I’ve isolated the problem. On iOS privacy settings I had private IP WiFi address set to “rotating”. Once I switched this setting off, my phone key has not disconnected. Weird but at least it is fixed. Hope this helps someone else.

Interesting. That’s not my issue however. I’m now parking in a parking garage, relying solely on the truck’s connection and it still happens.

I have noticed that the problem goes away after updating the software, but eventually returns…

After months of troubleshooting and giving up, I got an unexpected and long duration power hit at home and the 'setup phone key' issue dissapeared!, When powered returned, problem re-occured. I have many IOT devices such as Nest and BLE thermometrs, I killed them all the problem went away. (in my case WIFI wasn;'t the culprit). Remember, BLE is really long range so anything in the house with Bluetooth Low Energy can interrupt the authentication process. It is not a proximity issue with the Cybertruck, I always suspected that, once you eliminate the BLE broadcasters Cybertruck will start acting normally, just like Model Y. You can use free apps that sniff BLE advertisments, some devices broadcast at insane short intervals like several times per second. Good luck!
