I have a Tesla Y and a Cybertruck.

My Iphone app keeps asking me to setup phone key. Sitting outside the truck I am able to setup my phone key and then enter the vehicle but after a few hours it 'forgets' again, asking to setup phone key. Same with my wife's phone. Model Y has no problems.

I removed the Tesla app, did the bluetooth 'forget device' on both phone and cybertruck, still nothing. I did this about 10 times, same result...

Help, please! Is there a 'master reset' where I can start everything from scratch? I am willing to do it.

I’ve noticed something similar since I installed the holiday update and added my Apple Watch as a new key for my Cybertruck.

I couldn’t use the CT to answer calls or use my favorites to make a call from the CT phone app. I noticed in my iPhone Bluetooth settings that both devices were connected to my CT.

I rebooted the CT and reselected my iPhone in the CT Bluetooth settings and after waiting patiently for 5 minutes it finally reconnected and has worked perfectly for the last few days.

I hope that this is helpful. Good luck.

My truck didn’t recognize my phone after the Christmas update. I had to enter and start it with my physical key card.
After deleting the phone from the truck (as a key) and “Forget this device” on the Bluetooth key from my phone, then set it up again it has worked flawlessly.
Wife didn’t have any issues with her phone.
Both phones had no issues with our model 3

Well, I thought this was interesting. Apparently we might have an explanation for the phone not unlocking my truck:

Potential Impact Phone key will not work.

Interesting. Same error here. An update: My Cybertruck is very close to my bedroom (8-10ft) and the problem started when I updarted from Iphone14->16. I think it has to do with weak BLE "long distance" connections. I think it can be fixed with software -- the Cybertruck BLE receivers are too sensitive.

Is your vehicle also in close proximity to your Iphone?

I have iPhone 15 and no issues for the 3 months before the Xmas update. And just that one time I had an issue. But, I have a large parking area and the truck gets parked in various spots. But, I have to admit the spot closest to my house is the one in which I had the issue, not seen the issue before or after in that spot. Certainly in the 10ft range of my bedroom.

When I read the error code I’m reading it as the truck’s left endpoint is not responding to the truck’s central unit. If I’m right a new software change likely caused a timing issue, and it’ll get fixed at some point. Timing issue would randomly disable the phone detection, causing it to ignore the phone sometimes for short periods. Could be a previous issue too, and I just got lucky with the timing

if my phone ever fails to be detected, I’ll wait a little before reaching for my keycard next time. That’ll prove/disprove my theory I suppose.

This seems like Cybertruck has better BLE sensitivity and Tesla SW team increased the range a bit too much withl the atest DEC update or tighhen the receiving algoriths (I beleive that there are multiple Cybertruck BLE recivers around the car). Still this kinds of sporadic failures while in close proximity can be easily resoved by increasing the SNR levels or being aware of location using GPS aproximation algoriths, both Phone and CT that know you are 'at home' +/- few meters. That should overwrite the proximity issue and at home.

I will repeat the experiment with teh car parked >200 ft away and see if problem persists.

I'm having EXACTLY the same problem. I have both the Y and the Cybertruck. The Y was a piece of cake. The CT seems to "recognize" my phone but it won't keep it in memory.

what i noticed of that the problem happens only at my home location but not at work or anywhere else. I even changed my home wifi routers and tried to turn off all my home battery powered bluetooth devices, still got the problem. Frustrating
