Rolling forward on a steep hill while trying to reverse.

I turned down my very steep driveway and a delivery truck was trying to leave which forced me to have to back out so they could. Every time I tried to back I kept rolling forward. When I was able to finally reverse it was necessary to go backwards at a greater speed than I was comfortable with or I would start rolling forward again. I finally made it out but it was quite upsetting. How could I avoided this other than stay off steep hills?

Hold mode will stop it from rolling while you wait. Then you can feather the acceleration peddle to begin moving back, it’s easier in chill mode as the pedal sensitivity on sport and above will be harder to maintain that sweet spot roll vs stay still or move backwards. Kinda like driving a clutch / manual transmission in an ICE car.

Not trying to be insensitive… you got two legs ? Left brake, right accelerator. Forward or reverse.

My understanding is that if you push the brake it overrides the accelerator. When one of the accelerator pedals got stuck he said he just held the brake down and it overrode the acceleration.

The first comment was the most helpful. It takes time to get used to a Tesla, let alone a Cybertruck.

You are correct
Unless...
You put in off road mode, then you can two foot it. We did this on a too-steep-for-us trail we started to nose over.

For everyday driving, you shouldn't have to read a manual in order not to roll the opposite way.

A software update is needed, and no doubt coming.
