Run Compressor from Round Trailer Plug

I have a 12v VIAIR compressor from my jeep days that I'd like to use with my CT. Seems like the best 12v source for this would be the auxiliary power pin in the round trailer connector. Has anyone bought an adapter for the trailer connector to use this 12 volts? Anyone know the current limit? Is the 12v aux power always on or does the CT somehow see the trailer connected before turning it on?

Update: I did a search but couldn't find any info before posting. After creating this post, I now see this has pages of discussion. It popped up in the "What's New" section today.

I did this for USB ports.
I think the max draw on that circuit is 20-30amps.

I'd be worried about the amperage. It depends on your 12v compressor, but some are 30+ amps. The trailer 12v source doesn't have wiring that can support 30 amps... or really even 20. The USB ports don't come close that wattage. You'd be best off getting a 120v AC to 12v DC convertor and running off that.

The owners manual would have that correct, and I stand corrected. More than that would not be advised. So would then depend on the compressor and amperage draw it has.

I posted this a while back. You don’t need to make the DIY plug, light, USB, and outlet mini box I did. It has some led lights and enough length to reach each tire if needed at night. You can just use the 12 VDC supply linked on Amazon. Others found a small 120VAC compressor that’s linked in the thread as well.

I also bought a trailer adapter as an option that is linked.
