I encountered my first sharing situation over the last week on a road trip with other car makers vehicles. I guess due to the thanksgiving holiday there were more on the road then usual. I haven't seen many Fords or Rivians at SC locations until now. I was surprised that one of my usual stops that only has 8 Superchargers was open to other vehicles.

A Rivian was charging and taking up 2 of the 8 spots so Tesla cars had to wait. I don't see it as a problem usually but it seems like a location that small shouldn't be open to others. i didn't want to wait so I just got back on the road and drove another 30 miles and found a larger location and it was fine. I just prefer stopping at the spot with the 8 stalls. If they are going to be open to everyone it seems like this could cause some issues in the future.

Tesla now knows these vehicles will take up two slots and has updated their app to account for this....
Indeed, the Tesla app has become a bit more like a cosmic traffic controller, now accounting for those pesky non-Tesla vehicles hogging the Supercharger stalls. It seems Tesla's navigation system has been updated to provide a more accurate report on available stalls by considering which non-Tesla cars might be taking up space. This update helps ensure that when you're navigating the galaxy of charging stations, you're not left adrift, wondering if there's a spot for your spaceship... I mean, your Tesla. The app now offers a glimpse into the charging chaos, helping you plan your pit stops with a bit more precision.
