I just charged up at a v4 charger in Utah. It got up to 317 KWH speed

What state of charge were you at? That's not that fast for a V3 charger with an empty battery.

And please don't charge to 100% at a Supercharger unless you absolutely have to. Aside from being a miserable experience of having to wait that long, it does cause backups at busier chargers.

I tested one out yesterday to see if 500kW charging was available, but unfortunately it was not. They just installed them last month so maybe they will enable it soon after proof testing for a while (I only saw about 120kW at peak, so my pack may have not been warm enough since I was just driving around town).

Anywho... the cable and handle on these things are much beefier, and apparently there was way too much strain on my charge port. I learned the next day that apparently something in my port has been bent or shifted. I checked it by using another supercharger cable and my own mobile charger. After driving straight home, I managed to angle the handle in a way to get it fully seated, but I will be opening a ticket with my service center to have them check/realign the pins.

Definitely concerning that the first time I try one it bends the s*** out of my charge port. ?
If you were only seeing 120kW peak, then there is absolutely no way that you would have seen 500kW. Your battery has to be really low to charge at 500kW and at 120kW, I'm guessing you were well over 50% full.

Have you ever charged at a V2 site? It's cable is much heavier than the V3 liquid cooled cable.

And the list of 325kW stations is published, you don't need to check every one.

I only charge to 100 when I have a 6000 pound load behind me. It’s 130 miles to the next super charger along i84 in Idaho. I was at like 5 percent. 317kw is fast when the max is 325

hey, work 10 hours, get paid 2hrs OT and get free 80% charge...deal!
Yeah, I wish I got OT...but- definitely not a bad deal. I have yet to pay for a single kWh charging my truck, since delivery in July.

I think I was at 38% SoC, so you aren't far off. I wasn't expecting it to boost up to full speed but did expect a little more than 120 kW though.

And yeah, of course I have charged at v2 sites (even a local v1, which is one of the first superchargers installed. and the closest one to me). You're right, the v3 cables and handles are much smaller and easier to manipulate.

As for the v4 stalls and cabinets, there are quite a few more than published in that list. Maybe those are just the ones that are verified to operate above v3 rates?

What part of Utah? That is where I live and I would love to try it out.

Nowhere has V4 cabinets yet.
New sites are getting the V4 posts.
Some sites with V4 posts and V3 cabinets have had their single post power increased to 325kW .

Next time I'm around the v4 stalls in the Raleigh area I'll check the specs on the cabinets to see what they have listed.

Those are the ones the Tesla has said has been upgraded. As @mango mentioned, there really aren't any fully V4 sites out there yet.

This is disconcerting as I have been really waiting for the ones near me to open up.
Why do you need one near you to open up? Do you not charge up nightly at your own house? I need these to open up on my semi yearly cross country road trip route.
